Why would this retire before assembly square or the diner? Neither of which is marked as retiring soon on the Lego website.

I don't see either the DC or series 19 CMF at bestbuy price on Amazon. Poof already?

Still there for me.  Not really worth it to me since there is a limit of 3 and 5.

For the builders out there, there is a pretty good Saturn V Launch Tower MOC that uses this set as its sole source of parts.  Not perfect, but pretty darn good bit of re-engineering.  So, if you like that, grabbing the bus set at a discount isn't all bad.  (Link: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-34528/BennyBenster/saturn-v-mobile-launcher/?inventory=1#comments

FOMO ownz me.

LEGO will go one of two ways to deal w/ supply chain shortage and the forthcoming down economic news: either extend all sets "life" w/ prolonged OOS till things go back to "normal"; or they short list a bunch of sets (based on history,  strategy, and licensing commitment) for quick retirement. Clearly the past months have showed that LEGO is not planning to slow new sets coming to market...given supply chain issues something has to give.

I am guessing at licensing requirements but I think they are based on number of units and duration...and they would be sunken costs. LEGO should be motivated to maximize the return on these agreements.

I think all the big non-license sets will be the first to go since they require more resources.

I was thinking this as well.  However, I wonder if the license is for x# of products vs a time to end of production.  If it is number of production, then I'm sure LEGO has a ways to catch up.

The CS rep I spoke to the other night suggested that everything that is currently OOS will be coming back as soon as production / shipping catches up.  Of course, they aren't necessarily known as experts.

I just tried it and the code wouldn't work.  Maybe you mean for first time users?

I bought three of them so that must not be it.  I know they had very few left today so maybe they are out?

don't think so.  I could order, coupon just wouldn't work.

I'm not really big on the set either.  The last one only did well (not great) if you bought at significant discount -- which there was at the time.  TRU

I'm not a first time user.  I just went back in, after reading this, and put another in my cart.  Code still worked for me.  I don't know if it means anything but I didn't enter the code manually.  Instead, I clicked in the box and it came up as a prior code and I clicked on it.  It works.

Funny, I just tried it like you said.  I let the browser autofill the code and it worked.  Then I thought, oh yeah, Rakuten.  Hit that and then code disappeared.  Entered code again and didn't work . . .

empty cart, close window, click email link again, and there's my cart with discount already applied.  Ok, I'll do a write up in a bit!

I did not get this. Why the big non-license sets  require more resources?
