I seem to have answered my own question in the short term. If I add the stuff to my cart, go to checkout, THEN Login during the checkout process, the promos show up. If I add stuff to my cart while I am already logged in, they don't show up. No idea if they would ship anyway. But weird.

Received a text from Lego about the finale of Lego Masters tonight that if I replied FINALE I'll receive a code to use on my next LEGO Shop at Home purchase for a free Space Ride.  The code will come April 16th after 9 AM EST.  Steep price to get it though.

Yikes! I got the same text and I thought “Cool! Free Gwp!”

Then I saw that it was the Ideas Rocket Ride set and I thought “Oh...ok well I still have a bunch from the last time they offered That set but I guess another won’t hurt.”

Now I see the buy-in price and I’m like “uuuugghhh...really?” With the current shipping delays going on, better add that keychain, but very begrudgingly.

$130 purchase? GTFO! Money grubbing Danes.

Agree.  I though the original buy-in amount when it was first offered months ago was $99, and I didn't have to get bothered with a text to watch their show full of advertising and reply back to get a code for the privilege (ahem) of spending $130 to get something that can be had for under $30 on eBay (at the moment).  I got one gwp to keep and bought another on ebay to build.

In other news, number of deals out there are pretty dry at the moment!  I did find the new minifigures at Walmart yesterday.

Well I have already heard of this through quite a few worthy sources, but right now I would consider 20% off the new 40% off.  Don't expect any great deals for a long time and I would really look though this Amazon list of discounts and grab what you can since there will be a demand.

has lego said anything about slowing production? most sets come from china or mexico, correct? i doubt they have slowed anything in those countries. 

if production does go down then surely discounts will be less. but i also don't think the economy has completely caught up with this mess. at some point people are going to slow purchases of non-essential items if they haven't already.

I would say that during a recession discounts are aplenty but sales are slower too.

Much like the greater economy there are two huge forces pushing down everything accept TP sales; and no one really knows.

The shelter in place AND unprecedented unemployment;

that said there will likely be scarcity and there's always folks who are doing well enough to buy luxury items at discount...maybe this has a Peak, valley peak curve in terms of cheap sets doing well (affordable for those on tight budgets); medium sets stagnating in sales; high end big sets doing well (because there's ALWAYS rich folks looking to spoil their kids)

Overall, i guess they are just trying to hide it.  All the retailers will suffer for a while for sets.  

We can expect a shortage of sets , I am not sure how serious , but the main question it this quarantine lasts longer , and people start kissing their Jobs, will they spend money in toys ??

Honestly we are seeing intermittent shortages in "everything." It has been going in waves, tp/lysol, electronics, hair dye, anything you can think of. Now some meat plants are getting shut down. We all rely on human people standing closely together to package things whether it's food or plastic bricks.

Probably...they aren't spending money on gasoline/cars/vacations/eating out. Legos can come right to the door and provide hours of entertainment.

People at work know of mysite, I have probably helped more than 20 parents buy multiple sets in the past 2-3 weeks.  Yes they are still working, so maybe money isn't the issue for them, but they are still buying LEGO (on sale and full retail).

My kid is pissed I banned him from watching last night Bc he didn’t do his school work, anyone willing to send me the text to number so I can attempt to hold this over his head to get another weeks worth of school out of him [emoji51]

I never got the text today.... odd.  If the code is something generic like "SPACE" I'm sure someone will share when they get it.
