selling all day for 40 bucks shipped on ebay right now....I expect that to dip quickly before starting the long climb back to around 50 bucks down the line

I'm always surprised at how much GWP can sell for. Why would someone pay $50 when for $100, they can get it plus $100 worth of Lego? Do they really not have the extra $50?

I know for me, I like to get extras of the Christmas promo sets. I do make the purchase requirements some times but if I felt the promo set would be worth more than $50 in the future, I’d rather get 2 of them for $100 than the extra purchase for a free one.

my friend put 44 orders in as I spoke to him yesterday, so 60 is not impossible

For Lion Dance, Just make sure to add something small that ships now for the GWP.

So, I just spoke with CS, I ordered Lion Dance and the Mandalorian BHz set. They confirmed that they set aside a GWP that will ship with the LD set mid-March. We shall see...

I hope it works out for you, but I guess I’m risk averse. I had an order similar to yours, but I added a Series 19 CMF for $3.19 to make sure the GWP ships.

it didn't work for me long time back, ended up getting the pts instead. 

i don't mind getting the pts as it serves me the same purpose, but if you have to have the promo, i would throw in a filler item.

clarification for those that may know; does LEGO charge your CC for only the small item they ship now and then charge again once the bigger set gets shipped at  a later date?
