Both the Newt's set and the Stephanie's set are now Restricted on Amazon as of a few minutes ago. And not only those, but quite a few sets that have gone on sale recently have been changed to Restricted immediately following the sale price going live.

Must be targeted, I can list both.

Same

Very odd, as I'm actually not just ungated for LEGO on Amazon but I run a retail store and am an authorized reseller with a note from TLG on my file. And when I check on Seller Central it's showing as a holiday listing restriction instead of a brand restriction.

isnt this one of Terrymcs favorite sets?  I seem to remember him saying all day for newt at walmart clearances.

I like it. It checks off some boxes. Potter. Unique. Unlikely to be remade. Easy to store and ship. I was buying from Target at $40 with the $10 gift card deal last spring & summer. Walmart clearance at $30 they disappeared quick and didn’t linger, so that’s a good sign of its potential popularity. I still like it, but these recent online clearance sales will have an impact. Will probably be a mid-long range hold now.

What are they fetching on Amazon right now? Unless those sellers bought in at $20 or less, which was never available, I don't see how they can be making anything worthwhile right now when that set is still widely available at below retail. Let them sell. Less to worry about later.

Ebay $15 off $75 code TRIPLETHRILL

Can use three time in app only. This may be targeted, ymmv.

Looks like this can't be used with best offers or auctions.  That seems pretty stupid.

I got an email about the offer but it still doesn't work for me.

FYI if you are having a problem with the code, its on eBay. I found an item that qualified but the code wouldn't work. CS told me they have messed up and are currently trying to fix code. Some have worked, some haven't

Consider yourself lucky, I wasn't even targeted with the code.

I consider this lucky.  Ebay can go to hell.

Someone asked the question on their message board and one guy replied it was a fake email and ebay didn't send it.  That is BS right?

Also looks like the coupon must show up in your messages.  Both accounts the email was sent to, neither one has the message in my "ebay messages".  So why send the email if I can't use it...stupid ebay.

A lot of those sellers likely have stolen product, or product they get from freight auctions for 80-90% off MSRP. I get offered stolen LEGO a few times a month; usually 30-40 boxes at a time. I run a legitimate business so I don't buy these, but for people that aren't incorporated and just sell as a hobby it's pretty much a dream to be offered product like that for pennies on the dollar.

That being said, I do have a story about an auction a few years ago. I managed to buy a pallet of those Saturn V rockets a few months after they were released. There were about 40 of them in total and I paid $1,100 for all. Was a shipment to the local Amazon/Walmart (can't remember which) warehouse that got damaged and auctioned off. Happens a lot more often than you would think. In this case it's pretty unlikely that 100+ sellers all managed to find product from auctions, though. But each of them having 2-3 stolen boxes to sell is, in my opinion, quite reasonable.

Fortunately I've never had any trouble waiting out listings like that. As you said, it's less to worry about later.

They were definitely aware and acknowledged it was their promo code and they were fixing it, so yeah I think they just messed up. I do think the whole "its via email, but not via eBay messages" is part of the delivery problem too.

I have no where near the stock as the Amazon sellers I am sure, but during the summer Walmart clearance I was able to pick up 2 for $15 and 1 for $20.

The details of the promotion say as @stackables says, not valid on auctions or BIN w BO accepted. From the terms:

Coupon does not apply to auction-style listings or purchases made through the Best Offer feature.

Still may be broken but it’s a shitty promo.

According to the Amazon Black Friday 2019 press release found here [aboutamazon.com], they will have the LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Millennium Falcon [amazon.com] on sale for 40% off. Their Black Friday sales will start this Friday, November 22 and run through November 29. It is unclear when the Falcon deal will go live, but it will surely not last long!  -  I feel like the fat kid in doge ball. My chances of success here are slim.
