I appreciate the replies about the baseplates. I have been checking this thread regularly for my own collection but I'm curious about those of you that buy multiples of specific lego sets. Is the intention to hold on to them until they retire and then to sell them on ebay?

Buy low, sell high. The trick is figuring out what to buy and when to sell. Other than that, it's easy.

I mostly buy on sale via Amazon, Walmart, Target. Then hold until they retire for a few years then sell on Ebay. But others have different business models. That is just mine. Sometimes I'll do a quick flip but it's not normal for me.

Some 30% off sets in there too. Used my clearance Kohl's Cash and Yes2You Rewards, so I didn't get Kohl's Cash back this round.

Does anyone have any knowledge about the ban environment at Kohls.com?

I had several large orders canceled earlier this year. Needed to call in to get the orders released and was threatened with being banned for reselling. They have a strict no reseller policy and I was told that they can and will ban you for reselling. That being said, they didn't actually ban me, but I'm not sure why. I bought like $7k of LEGO in 3 days.

Dang it. Totally forgot to use my Oct Rewards dollars.

I’m so far removed from TRU Rewards I’ve forgotten how to operate.

haha  Well, it was when they put a few sets at 70% off online and you earned Yes2You and Kohl's Cash on top of it. I started slow-playing and then sets started selling out, so I had to ramp up quickly and place orders for max quantities allowed in the cart.

ANyone have any thoughts on City Mars mission big box sets?  Not investment, but I need to get for the Boy's Christmas...is 30% thru Kohls the best I will likely see for these set prior to Christmas?

I was ordering BH Mickey's, Minnie's and Elsa's in orders of 99, order after order, back when they were being clearanced online. I had zero problems.
