I tried to place an order online with free same-day local delivery and it said I could order 49 sets. Then it got kicked back.  I called and asked what they actually have in stock. 4 sets total. And I have to pick them up in-store. Woo hoo!

BTW, the sets I saw on clearance and tried to order were:

So I went into my local Frys. It is a few blocks from the house and I had never been in it. It is a weird store to say the least. 

Anyway, bought the following:

60204- Hospital $69.99

41190- Elves $9.76

60186- Heavy driller $22.74

41129- Friends Hot Dog stand $19.52

76104- Hulkbuster $16.79

The boxes on most sets were hit or miss.  Some perfect, others pretty smashed.  I only bought items in good boxes.  

So probably worth just checking in store instead of ordering online and picking up to ensure boxes are not damaged.  They were very friendly and had no issue with the promotional code.

Looks like Kohl's (online, not sure about in store) has 20% off on a lot of LEGO sets today. Plus, you can earn Kohl's Cash. Nothing that looks too enticing to me to buy a lot of at those prices, but a pretty solid deal.

Just posting this in case anyone runs into a similar issue.

I spent the better part of an hour yesterday on three different calls with B&N.  While their sales-audit team was very nice they weren't very helpful.  Turns out I had an old account with an old email and physical address so my initial order failed.  But because I tried to place an order I kept running afoul of a purchasing limit for items I never received and any subsequent attempts failed.

So if you really want to spend an hour or so on the phone it appears you can resolve this, but your mileage may vary.  I also say that without actually receiving anything yet, so for all I know I'm still due for a failed shipping email any moment now.

Can’t wait to get my hands on Mars sets but wondering which retailer will pull the discount trigger on them.

I went to Fry's today to pick up my order from a few days ago and I had a GOOD surprise there. They had a few older sets on sale for ~20% off. I went to check out and the girl asked me if I had a promo code. Before I could answer she said she would just use hers. Ended up at 39% off RRP before tax. She said when you sign up for an account online you are asked if you want a daily code or a special event code, get the daily code. And I guess you can use the code(s) at the register. All news to me.

The 30% off promo is over, but yeah their website is horrible and they only ship to certain states. As others have mentioned, Fry's sucks.

They bumped up prices on a number of the eligible sets about a day or so after this "Father's Day" coupon began (notably, Bugatti Chiron 42083 increased by ~$100).

Very happy with their free shipping on large sets though from UK to the West Coast, even though it takes its time and tracking can be iffy. Packed well.
