Kohls has most (maybe all) the same sets on sale again for the Black Friday deals.  For those of you that have Kohls Cash to burn:

30% Kohls cash ($15 for $50) starts at midnight. Good to see the sales back on.

I feel this is some sort of false advertising, assume there is no way to have prices honored shown in the google feed:

They must have applied the 20% offer code to all Lego results while it is clearly "select" sets on their website.

I just got in the mail a coupon for 20% off for Disney Visa cardholders. It excludes LEGO. I assume this is the coupon being referenced here on Google, but LEGO (and pretty much every freaking thing else) is excluded.

More sets have gone on sale at Kohls.  AT-AT even is showing a discount ($807.49) plus a nice chuck of Kohls cash.

scratch that, I guess these have been on sale since midnight, my mobile app was acting up this morning.

Side note My local walmart started stocking the holiday section and put out some more Meditation Chambers at $50.  Also saw tags for Optimus.  (Local store doesnt carry many sets over $100.)

With Kohls these days what are the min qtys to order to keep from getting banned? Have heard different qtys.

I did $3.6K worth of Corvettes and FFL during the month of October with no issues, besides to see they are 30% off today with $15 KC but both OOS, That's almost $700 of meat I left on the bone.

I got 1 order in for a whopping 3 vettes today.  They popped for a bit.  I tried making a second order but they disappeared in the cart.

I actually had an opposite experience in store today. 75925 Microfighter Millenium Falcon was $7.99 with a scan from the app. Scan & Go was $9.97, so I guess the in-store price was still 9.97.

l’m able to scan and go without adding to my cart, I think.

Kohl's has some good deals on sets that recently had prices go up. Treehouse, Ninjago Gardens, Ideas Globe, and UCS AT-AT all available at pre-August 1st prices with Kohl's cash plus 7.5% Kohl's rewards when you use your Kohl's charge. Sanctum Sanctorum also briefly popped in stock at retail price. I got one because of the almost $70 in Kohl's cash and rewards.

It is, they tend to mark up a bit online vs in store for most sets.

That sign is a BIG YMMV. Went back to the one store that had all the clearance and they were breaking down the 3 tier black shelves in the center of the store and moving everything to lawn and garden.

This was all I got and never saw them there before. Left MC pig farm and a ton of City safari still only 50%.

Spoke to the toy manager again and he assured me everything was out.

A couple of Walmarts near me have begun dropping some clearance prices. Picked up some 41688 Friends Magical Caravans for $10 each, 21170 Pig Houses for $15 each, and some 75297 resistance x-wings at $5 each. Only reason I knew the price had dropped was from b*******k New prices were not marked in the stores.

Just got off the phone with Kohls.com as was not able to check out. They are having some major glitches with their website at the moment.

When I try and checkout, it loops around and logs me out each time. Said I could place an order in the store though.

I had that happening to me, I was able to checkout with paypal checkout though.

I was able to checkout using their App easy peasy, although wasn't able to use cash rewards.

Their website is crap compared to their App.

So, I don't have any "major" issues with Kohls, I buy from them occasionally, granted it's for personal use only (I just did today and definitely appreciate the insights on the deal availability).  I'm guessing most folks on here already realize this, but for those that may not, the KC/KR is somewhat misleading since it ends up being diluted when you actually spend it.  Kohls is notorious for putting things on sale, which ends up priced in line with other stores (if not worse).  Even though you are technically getting 30% off (with $15 off $50 KR), it ends up being diluted based on what you actually end up using it for.  Plus, when you use KC/KR, the amount used is not eligible for any discounts, etc and only the remaining balance for the item bought is eligible.  Not to say you can't get some decent deals, just figured I'd bring this up since I haven't seen it called out specifically for the uninitiated.

Lastly, I haven't seen it mentioned but if you do purchase from Kohls, Rakuten has 1% as well so make sure to use that since every penny counts :)

Disneyshop has a handful of sets at 20% off, plus Rakuten has 10% today as well.  Probably the main one is the Ice Castle, which makes it a net effective discount of ~20% Vs the original price (pre-price increase)

Generally I'd agree with you, I'm always cautious with Kohls.  But last month was a static 20% off and they had multiple rounds you could earn cash and use kohls cash on the same discounted sets.  I haven't seen that happen much before, it made for some outstanding deals.

This current promotion I expect should overlap another sale opportunity as Christmas shopping and deals get into full swing.

Now the problem I've had is that I could spend the Kohls Cash earned on more sets but I could also use it on personal purchases/ necessities.  Make your sets look better on paper vs getting stuff you need or want for free/cheaper...

Not to go down too much of a rabbit hole and I'm not trying to convince folks not to shop in Kohls because I agree, there are some good deals to be had and there's probably ways to minimize the dilution but I just don't want folks to think that the % off is the same as initial purchase.  Here is an example I whipped up, it's simplistic and only looks at purchasing 1 set on two separate occasions.  The first purchase yields a net discount of 47.4% but if you apply the KC/KR to the same set later (at the same sale price), then your discount ends up being only 23.9%.  Granted this is a worst case scenario and overall, still getting a 35.7% discount for both (which is nothing to scuff at) but it's not as good as the initial discount (which gets diluted regardless of what you spend it on).  Not to hijack this thread for this and happy to discuss this on a separate thread as I personally love to run numbers but just wanted to make folks aware since it's not that obvious at first blush.

The way I use KC is pretty straightforward.  I see the total amount in my cart, then apply KC.  Whatever I end up paying after KC will be my base cost for the sets in the order.  If this is not good enough discount for me, then I am not buying.

Whatever KC earned from this order will be applied to next order.  Rinse & repeat.

Admittedly this is NOT the best way to get 100s of items.  But I am not a big fish in the pond 🐠

This discussion should probably be moved to the Kohls thread...

Here are my 5 ct: From an accounting standpoint, you need to book in the price you actually pay. So your buy-in is what's on the receipt. Hence, I like buying stuff for personal use with my KC.

The problem with that is that Kohl's base price is routinely (much) higher for stuff than elsewhere and you can't use coupons if you use KC. Especially with the tight window for KC redemption, you often overpay a bit. Hence, for my purchase decision, I value KC at 60%. So if I'm buying something for 100 and earn 20 KC, my mental buy in price is 88. If thats a good deal, I buy.
