A couple questions:  Is BB-8 a good investment?  And how long does it take for VIP points to post to your account?

Looking back on this thread this morning and I see this. The deal of the season swirling all around, BPers F5ing like crazy, multiple tabs opening and closing, Credit Card alerts coming in via texts and phone calls, and this question is asked. So funny.

I saw that too. Pretty classic. We were all newbies at some point that didn’t understand you order as much as you can as quickly as you can.

Yeah, Until you get the ban hammer. I did that in 2014. I ordered $3K worth of stuff in 20 minutes. Then I got the ban hammer. Just got my buying privileges back this week thanks to a heads up from someone here who noticed they too were able to buy again at Lego.com.

Not the first time that happened.  Just go back far enough on this thread and you'll see those questions, especially when we have an influx of new members :)

What irks me about all this is I got exactly the same type of deal yesterday on Adidas.com.  Difference was, they were advertising getting an extra 30% off including sale items where Lego cancels you and bans you for trying to get such a deal.

Anytime I wake up and see Daily Deals and My Order Status as the top two most recent forums, I know I missed out on something

Felt the same way when I logged into my computer at work.

Well if the orders get cancelled, you didn't miss anything

Yes, they f*cked up.  I had my 2 orders cancelled and used points.  I called CS so I could get my points back and the lady stated the LL14 code was an old employee discount code that was no longer valid and shouldn't have been leaked.  I received my points back within minutes, so that was nice that I didn't have to wait to get them back.

Not entirely true...if you use a certain cash back website you can still get credit for the purchase and 2.5% cash back. This happened several times including the Disney store online debacle this summer. Ordered a Disney Castle, got cancelled, still collected the $21 rebate.

Does anyone know if redeeming VIP points will count against dollars used towards the free Gingerbread House?

VIP rewards will not subtract from GWP eligibility $ requirements

Barnes & Noble in-store: 25% off TLM2, 30% off HP (Newt & Grinwald only), Toy Story 25%. Rumored 30% off on other select (unidentified) sets. Get a free Lego minibuild (polybag) for every $25 spent- Pelican or HP at my store.

Not great deals but some of us have $10 vouchers to spend by 12/23. Also, you can stack multiple vouchers on a single purchase even though they're supposed to be one per purchase.

I woke up around 4:30 am to hit the head and saw all the commotion. Went to LEGO, placed a batmobile in the cart, entered the code and there it was: 30% off! I couldn’t believe it! I went back to search a few more sets to add to the order, get back to check out and what do I see? A message stating “THIS PROMOTION CODE IS NOT VALID. PLEASE TRY AGAIN.” The code had gone invalid in that one minute! It was such a let down.

After that, I just creep back up the stairs, quietly crawl back into bed, and just lay there motionless wishing I had gotten out of bed just one minute sooner to take a leak. Oh well, maybe next time. ?

No need to lose sleep over it, looks like all the "later" orders are getting cancelled anyway.

I have a philosophical deal question for people. Lego messes up, drops a 30% discount code. Do you place orders just above 100$ to get promo's or place orders of 99 qty to maximize your discount code usage?

I debated this for 30 minutes on the 20th Ann. Clone Scout Walker which was max 99. But went with 2 big orders with Hulkbusters, BB8 and Batmobile. All on warehouse.

In general, success in getting orders with a glitch from anywhere depends on how quick you pull the trigger and how inconspicuous your order is (read: not qty 99).
