I'm really having a hard time wrapping my head around this price matching talk on this thread. Maybe it belongs over on the ethics thread, if so, then feel free to move it. Here goes, Members are pitting Target against Amazon on certain sets. For instance, Target has sets on sale this week along with the $10 off $50 deal. Amazon then matches the sale price minus the $10 off price. Then we go back to Target and ask them to match the new Amazon price and use the $10 off again? This seems highly unethical, or am I overthinking this?

It is all about Karma. Whether it is ethical or not does not really matter to some people and of course, everyone has his own moral standard. You think you get a steal deal but the "steal" money will certainly shunt somewhere else that most of us could not see or are unwilling to see.

We all like deals because it saves money. I feel happy when I get a good deal (but do I truly get a good deal?) Some members "love" to share good deal and sometimes, to some degree, boast it. Sometimes, I wonder, "do they really love to share how much discount they get?" or they just want to show off? Showing off, as far as I am concerned, is not a good thing. Sharing good deals like listings with discount or telling people in adjacent areas where the good deals are is certainly appreciated.

Every store manager can make the decision to execute on a deal or not.  They can decide based on any factor - is it worth making $X profit now and restocking, or hold out until someone else buys them? Is it worth fostering goodwill with this buyer, maybe to keep him coming back to my store? Do I think it will sell at a higher profit anyway?

This level of decision making is what you want in a store manager, at least IMO.

I don't think we mind people boasting a bit or giving tips to a good "possible" deals.  Some folks just like to sour the community or provide for their own self-interest without contributing.  Folks can choose to block those members when needed.

Yes, every store manager is hired to run the register.

Agreed .. some managers will go out of their way to help their regulars without me - I mean them - asking .

Hmmm I really don't know about the unethical portion of re-price matching on target with amazon vice verse. I've never been able to do so in my store anyway but the fact is the lego sets are dirt cheap to begin with. It's like saying you're at Ritz-Carlton and the coke costs $5 per can and you ask them to price match Walmart and they did and you happen to have a coupon at half price bringing it to maybe 25 cents and that coke costs about 5 cents to begin with.

Is that bad?  I guess I have too much crap coming into my inbox.  Still a good deal if you are ok buying from third-party.

Not at all. Kaplan is a respectable Toy shop in Raleigh. I've had nothing, but good experience with orders from them. FWIW.

Thanks.  Just ordered one.

But... It now says "In stock on December 23, 2016".    Is this thing not retiring?

Hopefully it's not coming back in full production like TB did.
