Good grief. Not sure whether that's a good thing or not. (RE xwing)

Just because I post links, or one/two people make a comment doesn't mean everyone and there mother jumps on it like you.  If that was the case, maybe i would be retired right now.  People have budgets, don't pull the trigger now and then complain about it later.  Go by your own gut.

My comment was based on the degree of current discounts on sets esp in terms of investment potential. Obviously retailers are saturated with LEGO right now and they aren't moving fast enough, hence the mark downs. These markdowns are great as well as the consistent updates from you (I might add!)

I will do both ways...amazon and target (some still got couple, use target price tracker 204-00-0148)

Yep that is all true, It is the one problem with the internet, sometimes you comprehend things differently.  You can always move to Canada. They have crappy discounts there :)

I have much respect for the Canadians, but I have no desire to move there. 3 month winters are nice.

Are we talking about the  LEGO NexoKnights Lance’s Mecha Horse 70312 ? If so I don't see how target can be cheaper even with 25off and 5% red card. I just bought two on amazon and it's $18.60 after tax so it should be a good buy for you. =)

I'm really having a hard time wrapping my head around this price matching talk on this thread. Maybe it belongs over on the ethics thread, if so, then feel free to move it. Here goes, Members are pitting Target against Amazon on certain sets. For instance, Target has sets on sale this week along with the $10 off $50 deal. Amazon then matches the sale price minus the $10 off price. Then we go back to Target and ask them to match the new Amazon price and use the $10 off again? This seems highly unethical, or am I overthinking this?

Unethical? Not if Target agrees to it. Target declined my price match on two sets, so I left. It's their policy and its their coupon. Ultimately, it's their choice.

Whatever the buyer and seller agree to is fair. You can ask Target to do something all you like, nothing unethical about that, and if they accept your offer then you have an agreement. Again, nothing unethical.

Their corporate policy does not allow for price matching in addition to store coupons.  Unaware seasonal employees and managers willing to placate demanding customers will allow some people to be successful in violating these policies.

Cartwheel offers, Target Gift Card offers and Target coupons cannot be combined with price match.

If you think this is bad, just wait until clearance season.

anyone here go to B&N and have any luck with getting them to take off 20% on the architecture speaking of such matters.....

More or less ninja'd by you.  So I'll just post to confirm what you're saying.

I don't know what their website states, but the stores I have been to had signs posted for what themes were included in this promotion.  Architecture and Ideas were both excluded from the sale and will not ring up at 20% off.

Even at 10% with the memberships, some of those retired sets still in stock are still a good buy....just curious if anyone was able to get them to budge on the 20 off.....

While we're talking about B&N, just thought I'd mention that [70909] Batcave Break-In qualifies for the current 20% off discount so it shows as $79.99 online which is the cheapest I've seen it without any other retailer magic. This is the only Batman Movie set that qualifies for the 20%. Unfortunately, the set isn't at my local B&N so I can't use the additional 10% membership discount.
