Am I the only one getting tired of this same BF offering year after year? (apparently TRU thinks it's a good idea)

I never get tired of making easy money with the brick boxes.

Yeah, no matter how dumb we think the Brick Boxes like 10697 are, they sell. I don't even bother with eBay or shipping, I sell them locally on Craigslist for $75-90 a pop. I was able to get 5 10697's last year, and 4 10664's in 2014. I'll buy whatever I can find at $30 on BF.

I was able to get 7 or 8 last year a week or two after BF when the popped back up online for $27.  I believe the same happened the year before as well, and some after christmas.  But if you must have then try to get as many as possible on BF.  Personally I was not able to find any instore though.

The store I stood in line at I was only able to get 2. After driving to the next its almost like no one wanted them and I bought the whole pile..........LOL

Found 30474 at Target, $3.49

DCPI 204-00-1634 (although that might be generic). In which section of the store was this? Most of my Targets have ~30 in stock - will try and get one later today.

Seasonal section. Friends bowling alley was there as well (recently a FWP promo at TRU).

10697 on the table at walmart this BF again. currently available online for $54

I can't remember the WM brick boxes being available online before BF before. I wouldn't be surprised if WM sells through all of the online inventory before BF so if you them and are only planning to buy online, I would advise you not to wait for the BF price. You can still make money at a $54 buy in and have the time to build up a greater volume of them right now.

That right there sounds like logic. WHAT IS THIS?! BRAIN HURTING.

I got the $180 one, was hoping for the 160 to build but also still happy to get one at least.  Always hurts to open a great condition box, I just have a hard time with it, but I do want to build this one as well.  1st world problems...  Thank you to the OP.

Looking at the picture.  $3.49 is for something else.  Rudolph is $5.99.

My mistake.  They are both Rudolphs.

No beans in Polybags.

Given that the parrot in 31031 actually poops, it's only a matter of time before the reindeer has bean bags. Gotta raise that realism bar eventually.

A little off topic:  Earlier today I bought an "Acceptable" Sandcrawler from Amazon Warehouse for $165.  Description reads:  Condition: Used - Acceptable - Cosmetic damage (Less than 20%) on the top of the item. Cosmetic damage (Less than 20%) on the sides of the item. Cosmetic damage (Less than 20%) on the bottom of the item. Item has no cracks or dents. Item will come in original packaging. Packaging will be damaged.

I have a window before it ships to cancel.  What are the odds that this set will be totally trashed?  Anyone else ever purchase a Lego set in Acceptable condition and how did it turn out?  Thanks.

For $165, you'd be hard pressed to not get your money back. If it's at least sold by AWD and not a 3rd party, it's doubtful that it's very used.

Yeah, at $165 you let it ride. Build and enjoy it. Highly doubtful, but if any pieces are broken just bricklink them, or order directly from LEGO Shop at Home. Alternately, have it shipped to me and I'll PayPal you the $165.

It's definitely to build.  I'm just concerned about missing minifigs, opened bags or the manual being damaged.  It's a nice box but I'm not worried about it.

I seem to remember them being online last year before BF and at a similar price as this year.

No luck finding the Reindeer poly at my Target. Only the Bowling Alley.

They're in the shelves near all the Christmas items. Lots of small red sectionals and these happen to be in one.

They weren't on the shelves yet when I went earlier, so I asked if they could locate them. Grabbed 15 and the cardboard shipping box (would have taken them all, but they wouldn't let me).

Checked there and that's where I found the bowling alleys. Didn't bother asking. While I was there two of them were standing there dumbfounded when someone else was asking about LEGO advent calendars and they couldn't figure out what that was. Felt it was better to cut my loses and move on.

AWD stuffs are hit or miss. mostly been miss at that level [Used Acceptable] i.e. its going to be missing either box and/or some bags and/or instructions.

i would give it like 70:30 probability of getting complete set.
