What's most surprising to me is that for a lot of sets, the initial clearance prices at Wal-Mart have nearly been matched with time by Amazon. For example, I was pretty stoked when I found Mystery Mansions for $64 bucks, but they've been available on Amazon for $72 for weeks (months?).
Another great example is the First Order Transporter. When it first came out, RRP was, what $109? Eventually it got knocked down to $89, and it's still available for $72.

The most baffling example is the new AT-ST. RRP is $39, but it was immediately "discounted" to $32 pretty much everywhere.
RRP is really more of a suggestion now.

RRP for the transporter was $89.99

It is over priced to begin with I think. $30ish is a more realistic price.

440 pieces, iconic vehicle, great design. I thought $40 was reasonable given the AT-DP was $50.

Last year there was a much different sentiment in the Daily Deals.

There appears to be ALOT of inventory for TLG to move but not nearly as many buyers. I can wait for 50% off.

Did anyone hit up Five Below for Dimensions Fun Packs? They were 2 for $5, I found: Benny, Bad Cop, Nya, Zane, Gimli, Cragger, and Eris. I don't actually have the game, maybe I'll have to get it? For $2.50 each, I didn't mind filling out the ol' minifig collection.

Yes, I took a few Gimli's, and there was someone here who bought the entire store. See the "What LEGO did you buy today?" thread a few days ago. I believe some bought them online as well.

Caterham good buy for personal build now. For investing ide wait months from now to buy.

There are other priority Ideas sets to buy.

Are there any store with some good prices on the micro minis super hero sets?  Looking to get the complete set.

Sam's Club may have 2 different sets of 3 for $24.99 ea. YMMV
