Perfect.  Finally able to load up on garbage trucks at a decent price.

I love the garbage truck, but afraid it will take the same trajectory as the snow plow (because of it's popularity)... only $3 over MSRP almost a year after retirement.

Agree there are risks.  But with regard to the Snow Plow, kids in half of the country don't see those around them (especially down here in Texas), so that might be impacting it. 4432 has done well and I'll take my chances with thus one at a low buy in.  Not going in heavy, just a mild stash.

The cargo train at target seems like an ok deal though it has been available for less before - with red card 49% off MSRP.

Stuff's goin' quick! People who woke up late aren't gonna be pleased...

Trying to get excited by this sale but the stuff im interested in is only 20% off TLG's falsely inflated RRP. I have a feeling Target is going to have some mammoth sales closer to the end of the year. They are getting squeezed big time between Amazon and Walmart and pain always brings opportunity.

Looks like Target online now reflecting 20% on a lot of city sets. Also for some sets it is compounded with a previously discounted price.

Some great discounts until Target web manager wakes up and gets his coffee (and does a spittake)...

Cargo Train $108.79 45.6% off RRP http://www.target.com/p/lego-city-cargo-train-60052/-/A-15645520

Passenger Train $93.59 37.6% off RRP http://www.target.com/p/lego-city-high-speed-passenger-train-60051/-/A-15645519

Demolition Site (labeled Arctic Demolition :) ) $55.19 38.7% off RRP http://www.target.com/p/lego-city-arctic-demolition-site-60076/-/A-16964952

And the otherwise mentioned Police Station, Fire Station, Garbage Truck, Van and Caravan, Fire Engine, etc. all double stacked essentially 20% + 20%

Homorable mentions: Santa's Workshop and 2015 Toy Shop both in stock at RRP ($2 less for toy shop)

Road plates and more road plates for me please. I always get as many as I can when they go on sale.

Those road plates are a bit of a rip-offclever packaging on behalf of TLG. Any layout always needs more straight road than anything else, second most popular is curved roads (unless you make an american city layout, then it's crossroads). To get straight roads, you have to buy a crossroad section. *sigh* Unless there is a clever way to turn a crossroad into a normal road-plate (e.g. by bricking over the two intersecting roads) you end up with a ton of left-over crossroads.

Any recent Staples coupons out there in the wild?

Thanks to all who found these :ike:target and TRU ads already. This is a visual summary from the flyers in the Sunday newspaper.

I totally agree about the road plates but unfortunately I need a ton of them for my layout. Brickbuilt roads just aren't very practical for the size of layout I'm building. I also got the prison island. Not a bad build I just needed another one to expand upon it.

Is that double 20% discount still working? Not seeing it in cart.

Scratch that. Prices already discounted initially from Lego retail price.

Yes but it's not every set. Just the ones they had marked down already. If you check app the prices are there without going into cart.

Never thought of the "no snow" effect. I thought the Snow Plow was a little over-hoarded because it was on the heels of the Logging Truck (which still sells for a crazy price.) Meijer's freebies certainly hasn't helped it's value take off, either.

After all that, I'm still buying a bunch of Garbage Trucks. Cleanest Lego City in the country right here.

I still think the best Lego garbage truck is the green one from the Lego movie.

I like the green one from the toy story set , but the Lego movie one is neat too
