Maybe a compromise, have a DD summary thread that's locked to the 1 post.
I know maintaining that can be a lot of work though, so easier said than done.

Showing my noob-ness here: How would this work? Would that summary be an overview of all the Deals reported in the last 24hrs? With many of them poofing within minutes/hours, wouldn't that lead to a lot of frustration?

That's probably why it isn't like that anymore. :P That and the full time work of updating.

It wasn't that hard and we didn't usually worry about poofing them until the next day.  I may have been more active in there than others, but it wasn't too bad and it appears the links were used more often than they are now.

We would sometimes post updates throughout the day.  The old posts are archived now, but we still have access to them.

Not a deal, but important info for those using this to get a deal:

Amazon stopped giving refunds when an item's price drops after you purchase it

The company that prides itself on customer centricity may have just alienated some customers.

Amazon has been known to give refunds if the price of an item drops after a purchase and the customer notifies customer service. But it appears that Amazon stopped providing these refunds earlier this month, except for televisions, according to price-tracking companies and customer postings on Reddit.

This is interesting. I guess Amazon did a careful calculation to make sure the after tax price lines up with Target's.

Amazon has accountants?!?!

I greatly preferred the prior Daily Deals thread and don't like it as much since the switch.

How about weekly deals...great format, not too long - not too short...
