76052 - Batman Classic TV Series - Batcave

Brickpicker News Article and Discussion

Maybe I missed it but I didn't see a thread on this.  What's everyone's thoughts on this set?

Looks like an sesame play set and love the 60s theme but not sure I would have room for it.

Lego stores description

"It’s back to the Batcave with this special set featuring iconic elements as seen in the classic 1960s Batman™ TV show. Answer emergency calls on the Batphone in Bruce Wayne’s private study. Then press the button under the bust of Shakespeare and open a sliding false bookcase to reveal the secret entrance to the Batcave. Change Bruce Wayne™ and **** Grayson™ into Batman™ and Robin™ and slide down the Batpoles. Protect the Bat Lab’s Batcomputer from The Joker’s TNT attacks and test Catwoman™ with the lie detector machine. Fly the Batcopter with Robin and fire the flick missiles. Then drive the Batmobile or Batcycle and stop those villains escaping with the Batcave’s secrets!

  • Includes 9 minifigures: Batman™, Robin™, Bruce Wayne™, **** Grayson™, Alfred Pennyworth™, The Joker™, Catwoman™, The Riddler™ and The Penguin™.
  • This LEGO® model of the Batcave as seen in the classic 1960s TV series features 2 Batpoles for Batman™ and Robin™ to slide down, a selection of Bat-gadgets, helipad, plus a Batmobile and Batcopter.
  • The Wayne Manor section of the model features Bruce Wayne’s study with the iconic Batphone, a hinged Shakespeare bust with secret button underneath, sliding false bookcase to access the Batpoles, and assorted elements including decorated wallpaper bricks, wall lamps, framed portraits, a framed fish and trophies. It also includes an exterior wall for climbing, with an opening roof for easy access to the Batpoles and an aerial element.
  • The Batcave incorporates a hi-tech, 2-floor Bat Lab with Batcomputer element and a variety of detachable accessory elements, including a lie detector machine, table, chest of drawers, Bat-gadgets and test tubes with translucent elements. Also includes the iconic Batcave entrance for the Batmobile and a helipad for the Batcopter.
  • The Batmobile features a dual cockpit with iconic Batphone, 2 stud shooters, an opening trunk, dual exhaust and sign stickers.
  • The Batcopter has an opening cockpit for a minifigure, bat-inspired wings with 2 flick missiles, spinning rotors and a spinning propeller. A villain minifigure can grab onto the back of the Batcopter for more aerial battle action.
  • The Batcycle features a driver’s seat for Batman™, translucent headlight element and a sidecar for Robin™.
  • Also includes a cat.
  • Weapons include The Joker’s TNT, Catwoman’s whip, The Riddler’s TNT and The Penguin’s umbrella.
  • Accessory elements include Batman’s 3 Batarangs, rope, grappling hook and handcuffs.
  • Includes separate minifigures for Batman™ and Robin’s alter-egos, so enter the secret doorway as Bruce and ****, and slide down the Batpoles as LEGO® DC Super Heroes!"

Seems like this is now on permanent sale of £159.99 (RRP 229.99) 30% off at Smyths.

Most stores have stock and it's also available for home delivery so there must have alot in stock in warehourses.

I'm surprised this didnt retire end of last year, poor seller + so many new batman movie sets to choose from.

20% off on Amazon Canada, any takers? I'm not to sure on SuperHeroes sets at this price...

About to be 50% off in Aus. Worth going in on?

50%?? If that happened here, I would be buying 15-20.

Yeah, definitely 50%. Unusual for us to get a significant discount on any large set! It and Assault on Hoth are half price in Target as of tomorrow.

These regularly sell for $150 UNDER rrp on ebay. Never a great marker for any potential investment set in my opinion.

Would love to see some listings like they. I'd love to get some at that price.

exactly what i wondered earlier today.  i wouldn't mind 1-2 of these to build.  just not paying MSRP for it.  insane.

I feel like this set is screaming for two of them to be built together, to really flesh it out.  I'm waiting, just like you.

I have one+one w/o vehicles

Well the good news is the value is holding pretty strong on it unlike some other exclusives.  About a half dozen or so that aren't bad out right now and those are the ones that haven't seen countless discounts.

Its doing better in the US than Europe then. It's on permanent discount over here.

In my country pretty much every exclusive is at a permanent discount, at a degree that even with 3xVIP and promo is mostly not worth it to buy from LEGO Shop at Home .For the beetle I was at odds what to buy.

I still don't remember this set going on-sale in the U.S.  Now it's listed as retiring soon on Lego's non-U.S. sites.

Is it widely available in the US? Some of the bigger exclusives are being sold in nearly ever toy store over here, which tends to drive prices down.

Not really. Just online and Lego mall stores. I never saw it at a WB store.

Puts the kiss of death on this investment then.

This is in stock at every major retailer. I don't see how they can get rid of it without discounting it.

See ToA. I expect some type of doorbuster offer after the summer. in Europe, it´s not marked yet so I guess it will stay around till 3rd or 4th quarter.

Think it was fairly heavily discounted at smyths last year, but even then the discounted TOA were much better value.
Even part out figs and weight, this is going to have to come down a lot to move.
