Was surprised to see the Battle on Craig scene featured prominently in the Star Tours attraction at Disney Hollywood Studios today. Typically those rides have old content, this was brandspanking new with TFA and TLJ content in 3D.

Enjoyable and funny. Unlike TLJ.

Disney has been on top of Star Tours since they went to 2.0 and especially since they bought LucasFilm.

I’m pretty sure they had TFA and R1 content in there that same weekend.

Indeed. Astral projection Luke died wield a light saber but that version of Luke looked different from the old Luke as shown on the box.

Look at the porg on Chewie's shoulder. SMH

I totally missed the porg.  All they did was paste it on Chewie's shoulder as the original art work did not include this.  They should have gone ahead and erased Rose Tito since she was such a shitty character.  Disney and their apologists will deny that The Last Jedi was a disappointment on many levels.

It wouldn't make sense to show trimmed Luke with his saber on the dvd cover as it would reveal the surprise of that moment in the film.

Showing him how you see him in the commercials makes the most sense.

The Luke presented on the Bluray cover is the one fans were hoping for.  The doppleganger we get at the end of the movie isn't really Luke Skywalker.  Mark Hamill looks more like an old Billy Mays than Luke.  

The point is that the cover is misleading because THAT Luke never wielded a lightsaber.  He tosses it over his shoulder.  

Luke's character in the film would've been more interesting if they wrote him as an older version of Qui-Gon Jinn than the crusty, broken down old man we got.

Just be like me and pretend this movie doesn’t exist.  The Last Jedi reminded me of sand.  I hate sand.

 

I don't get the hatred for TLJ from the Internet. The SW remains a childhood vavourite set of films that I grew up with. But got to be honest they're great fun but have flaws. TLJ was good action / fun generally, just like any of the original trilogy. Also it's unfair as many people simply compare the latest film to the original trilogy as a whole. As standalone films they have their flaws.

its amazing what rose tinted glasses can do. Just to be clear - the original SW trilogy has a special place. I just think some people forget it's not Citizen Kane.

This. We just watched A New Hope for the umpteenth time yesterday. Even my kids start laughing at some of the flaws. For example:

- Luke lives with his uncle and aunt for 15+ years. When they die, it takes him all of 2 minutes to forget about it and move on to adventures with Obi-wan, who subsequently dies after Luke knows him for perhaps a few days, and Luke is down and out, upset about it for days.

- Obi-wan remarks that the shots fired at the Sandcrawler are "precision shots, too accurate to have come from Sand People, must have been Imperial Soldiers". Followed by a gazillion battles in which Imperial Soldiers cannot hit someone even when they're 5ft away.

I found TLJ enjoyable for what it was. Only scene that made me frown was the whole Leia pulling herself back into the space-ship fiasco. All the SW movies have clear flaws and plausibility concerns. I'm sure there are tons of 8-year old kids out there who get their first SW impression from the new movies and will become fans, just like some of us became fans when the original trilogy came out, or when the prequel trilogy was released.

I would have been less disappointed if “Rogue One” wouldn’t have been so good.

It’s not an issue of just having little chuckle flaws. They all do. But New Hope didn’t recycle a previous Star Wars movie or take its characters into uncharacteristic paths like the past 2 have. These new movies’ main flaw is apathy. They’re not even trying to be new, just recycling the same formula like their Marvel cousins for the most part. This can only last so long before audiences get bored.
