In Ep 8 news today (and as rumored), the release date has been delayed from May 2017 to Dec  2017.  We know Ep 7 was delayed due to a major script rewrites. I believe it's for a similar reason.

Star Wars: Episode VIII to Open December 15, 2017

The release date for the next film in the saga is confirmed.

Today, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that Star Wars: Episode VIII, originally scheduled for release in summer 2017, will now debut on December 15, 2017.

Written and directed by Rian Johnson, Star Wars: Episode VIII is currently in preproduction and will begin principal photography in London next month. Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman will produce and J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski will executive produce.

In SW IX, in order to fit real-life circumstances, Leia will be Snoke's "prize" in his Super Duper, 62.5% smaller than the Death Star, Mega-class Star destroyer (60 km wide) when it's blown up.  Thus no more Snoke, First Order or sadly, Leia.

Honestly, Snoke's new guards look like red versions of the Strange Brew film's hockey players. Very plastic-like.  I think the Royal Guards looked cool because because the red was darker, had contrasting color trim and some fabric.

Not sure if it was discussed in here already, but the movie is 2.5 hrs long, longest Star Wars movie to date.

It´ll be Yawn Yawn Blinks for many of the kiddies then.

Some of the winter wave releases are also becoming a bit more clear..

The microfighters are episode 8 Awing, Milllennium Falcon, and FO Tie..

The sets sound like FO battlepack (probably with execution stormtroopers), Ach-to set that will be 24.99 and comes with Rey and Luke (the rey minifigure was recently leadked),  that weird sandskimmer thingy that is in the teaser racing towards the at-at then another set that is supposedly based on the Canto Blight and more than likely has a DJ minifig in it.  

This wave sounds a bit better than the first one.

I for one, will be hammering Fandango for tickets instead of giving eyeballs to MNF. The trailer will be on YouTube soon enough

Any clue on rating as with that run time I want troubled force user to massacre people.

In other words nothing like EP1 although I sense they will stick a full senate hearing in.

I've read an interesting theory about Phasma being a double agent. then again i also read how Kylo is gonna pull a Snape

mine didn't show on fandango , i just went to my theater's own site and it worked. ( no refunds but thats not an issue  )

I'm optimistic because I get the sense this trailer is resetting expectations ... only to exceed them.  That was underwhelming, but I'm OK with that.  Wow me in the theater, not on MNF.  Looking forward to December!
