If it is a rehash of episode 5 I'll be pissed . Then again, you would expect the FO to have the upper hand in this one on par with most trilogy series .
August 20, 20178 yr Why should the First Order still have the upper hand though? I mean how many Death Stars does the Rebellion/Resistance have to blow up to take the lead?

September 7, 20178 yr Well, look. If Episode 8 is disappointing, at least we only have 5 months to wait until the Han Solo flick. Oh, wait...

I doubt that happens. 60% of Star Wars is all the merchandise/marketing for the movie, and I assume that is already being produced in mass. They'll risk having a turkey, than risk pushing back billions upon billions of dollars in merchandise months later.

I feel like people will be confused with a Star Wars movie so soon after the last one and no new one coming for a year and a half. I don't know if they are testing the waters to see how people would respond to multiple Star Wars movies in a year without actually committing to that. I thought I heard it's because of the Avatar sequels, but it's looking like those are nowhere to be found.

The schedule got changed (cue, "prey I don't alter it any further" line) Dec 15, 2017 - Ep 8 May 25, 2018 - Han Solo May 24, 2019 - Ep 9 So, no 1 1/2 years between films. We get cut from 1 year to 5 months, and then back to 1 year.

Jurassic Movie is released in June so that´s 2 films that we will lose Xmas merchandising on - unless demand is still strong by then. 33 minutes ago, fossilrock said: I dont' think so. September 8, 20178 yr Topps card - note the sunken X-Wing So force lifting the X-wing out of the water is going to be part of Rey's training? If this thing turns out mirroring ESB as much as 7 did ANH I'm going to be very disappointed.
