Can an ebay gift card be used on a PayPal invoice?

Curious... can an ebay gift card be used to purchase something that has been invoiced through PayPal? (this would be a purchase outside of ebay)

    I don't believe so. I would think it has to go through eBay checkout

    Not possible. It has to be payed with either paypal or credit/debit card.
