=======================

Earlier today, a Greek Facebook user posted two pictures of set 76052, "Batman Classic TV Series - Batcave".

Before quickly reviewing this set's highlights, I will "POW" my way to this blog's conclusion.  If these pictures are fact, I'm officially   declaring that set 76052 will be a winner for AFOLs, KFOLs and investors.

While consider campy by today's entertainment standards, Adam West's Batman is still very popular despite debuting on the ABC Network 50 years ago (aired January 12, 1966 to March 14, 1968).  Yes folks, this year marks the 50th anniversary of the Batman TV series.

Despite this set being Lego's 3rd Batcave since 2006 (excluding Juniors & Duplo) and won't be the last, it most likely will never be refreshed or redone.  We have an iconic part of pop culture history in Lego form that will probably be available at retail for only 2-3 years.

Highlights

  • Includes 9 minifigures : Batman, Bruce Wayne, Robin, Dick Grayson, Alfred Pennyworth, Catwoman, The Joker, The Penguin and The Riddler  Sorry Bat fanatics but Aunt Harriet Cooper, Commissioner Gordon and Barbara Gordon / Batgirl are not included.  The rumored Mr. Freeze minifigure might be a polybag promotion.
  • Vehicles included are The Batmobile, Bat-copter and Bat-cycle.
  • Portions of Wayne Manor are included included the famous red Batphone and statue head that doubles as the secret entrance to the cave.  A side wall is also included for Batman and Robin to climb.

  • Portions of Wayne Manor are included included the well-known red Batphone and Shakespeare bust that doubles as the secret entrance into the cave.  An outside wall looks to be also included for Batman and Robin to climb and dual sliding poles
  • I expect MSRP to be around $199.99 considering the amount of minifigures and types of elements used.  Update : a Mod at Eurobricks thinks retail price will be $270 with a 2,526 piece count.
  • Retail availability  looks to be next month.

  • Why does each set have to be an investment? Why can't some sets just be enjoyed and displayed? There are dozens and dozens of investment sets out there and this may not be one of them but I look forw

Today (January 12) is the 50th anniversary of the show's debut. The reveal may or may not be tied to this date. We'll see...

Yea that hurts, I wish they would have made the sliding down the bat-poles like the old Batcave 6860

where you could send down Bruce & Richard (the bleeped you know what), and they come out as Batman & Robin

Edited by Deanfjr

Yeah to me $270 is a lot for that and overall it looks kinda bland, especially that giant wall of studs........

First day purchase for me.  Price may seem a bit high, but I have to have it as a fan.

Not to mention it has twice as much **** as the Juniors batcave.

Edited by zskid00

Why are they sticking it to us? The vehicles? The mini figs? The retro theme?

All the above! I will still buy one to build. I was going to buy two so I had one to collect, now only time will tell what I do  :(

I'm going to have to build me a batcave for all this LEGO.

$270 for a fraction of a Bat Cave build is an odd choice. Of course, I'm still going to buy it anyway and that probably justifies their thinking.

Must be, crazy price.....but I'll still get few

I thought $270 was high until I saw the video. Must.Have.

Perhaps there will be a UCS 60's Bat-Mobile that will replace the tumbler?

Would have liked to see much more Bat Cave and much less vehicles for $270.  Please, no more helicopters!

Also, there seemed to be a lot of stickers...

Can rumored be removed from the thread title now...?

This is one helicopter I prefer not to be without.

Who needs GBHQ now? This is awesome!

And I feel 6860 might get some extra interest now.
