But with Slave I coming out it makes zero sense for all the others to go. I'd say at least 2 on that list are staying a while.

I think Red 5 is staying.  Target, Walmart, Toys R Us and Lego all have in stock and limits at most are very generous.  I have not seen any stock bouncing on them either.

Well... 10240 has already had a pretty typical run for a non-UCS SW set, and it's limit 2 at LEGO Shop at Home.  It's also not rated real high at LEGO Shop at Home.  The last lower-rated UCS ship, B-Wing, had an unusually brief lifespan.  You never know...

At this point any set could be gone. Ed said so himself. Exclusives are on the chopping block.

The other upside - no one is going to order it and steal your minifigs.

My best guess is that the specific store has not received any new ones for a while, and they began to run low on stock recently and ordered a new batch.

I like this set a lot more now that I've seen one built.

There's always someone I guess, but he's pretty common. :)

I'm not sure why they decided to omit Luke (as a minifig).  He's common too, of course, but it is his ship.  An X-Wing without Luke is like the Tumbler without Batman.

I believe it was a limit of 5 still this past summer.  It will be out 2 years come May 2015, so I wouldn't be surprised if it "retires" around then.  The set always seems to be at the bottom of the list when you sort by "best selling" at places like Target and TRU, if those indicators mean anything.

I highly doubt that they would retire the Red-Five this year. It has only been available for 1.5 years. My guess is that it will retire in 2016.

It's a relative cheap UCS. The cheapest there will be now 10225 R2-D2 have all the signs going EOL

Slave I UCS is coming out on Jan. 1 2015 for $199.99 and there is a rumored TIE fighter UCS model for the May the 4th Lego Star Wars celebration.  Just my opinion, but I think Lego views those as replacements for the X-wing.  The X-wing could very well last until the end of 2015, though, and officially retire at the beginning of 2016.
