The Epic Dragon Battle has been out over 2.5 years.  Many of us bought in at some great discounts and it's an awesome looking set but this one is getting a little long in the tooth.

Yeah, the guy was really cool. I just explained I was trying to decide if I want to buy another now or wait and the stock level would help me make up my mind. He went on to ask if I collect and resell and said his brother is 37 and also into SW lego. I wonder if the other reps you spoke or chatted to have access to the info and were just being difficult.

Don't feel bad about wanting to buy 4 more.. I was at my target number weeks ago but after finally building one I keep buying more. Its' predecessor was one of the builds that brought me out of my dark ages but I really like this version much better. I know that might not affect resale value, but who knows if they will ever do a Red 5 again. It is, after all, the most iconic ship in the SW universe. : )

I think someone is itching to buy a couple more since they put their AA up for sale at 299.95 on BC, heh heh.

 

I'm going to be out of town this weekend or else I would order 2 more right now.  Don't want them delivered while I'm gone.  So hoping the TRU stock lasts until Monday but I have feeling that isn't going to happen.  Got a decent amount of these anyway maybe I should hold off for more of the other sets you have predicted (like your list).

BTW - I saw another question here where someone asked about current seal codes.. About a week ago someone reported seeing current seal codes for this set in a Lego B&M. I can't remember if the seals were late 2014 or early 2015 and I think the post was in the DD or retirement thread. Anyone else remember?

My local Lego store has tons of Red 5 and they all show 43R4.

 

I'm in Minneapolis this week for work so decided to swing by the Mall of America LEGO store.  I was really surprised when I looked at the seals on the one Red 5 that was on the shelf.  I can't remember if it was 43R4 or 47R4 - it was something in the mid 40's for week - but to see it have a fairly recent code was very surprising.  The few that I've picked up from TRU and Amazon have all been from 2013.

I keep expecting to get an r4 seal from TRU or Target but every single one is an R3 seal.

As we all know whether permanent or temporary Walmart and Amazon have been out of Red Five for a long time.

Target just went.

Toys R Us had 250 as of a couple of days ago...

About 36 hours later today this afternoon it was down to 138.

I would guess that it is down to about 100 now (I only got a couple more) but based on down 112 in about 36 hours I would guess we are down to 100.

 

Based on this Toys R Us will be out by Friday.

 

It could come back in full force everywhere.

 

But if you want to avoid F5 and back order at LEGO Shop at Home this also could be the last stress free way to get them.

 

I predict that it goes out of stock Thursday afternoon at 2pm.

Lets see what happens.  It is fun.
