Larger lot sizes of shelf bins I use the stackable Rubbermaid storage boxes - I get those from Home Hardware (they're a little bit more expensive but as far as I know they're the last Canadian home building store in existence so I like to use them when I can) For larger long term storage I go with the Rubbermaid rough neck 140L hightops. (when they go on half price, I have 200 of them from the last move so I won't need more of those for awhile :-) http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/rubbermaid-roughneck-jumbo-hightop-tote-140-l-1428067p.html here's a look at my mess, abit unorganized as I was still moving in at the time - oh, please excuse the little orange car taking up half the picture, self-gift... Wow, I'm not worthy Thumper! I have no where near the items that you do! I'm only looking to store a few unopened sets. I liked the Mastercraft version I showed you over the Rubbermaid one due to the snap latches, plus provision for a padlock... I have little ones who may pry - prefer to keep them locked out.

But I also agree the overly 'festive happy' crowd are out of control as well. Retailers have perpetuated this whole X-mas commercialism over the decades so overtly that X-mas merchandise is being promoted and sold as early as August. There are year round Christmas stores even! I walked my dog past a house a week ago that had a major Christmas scene with Santa's sleigh out and a ton of other stuff. I stood there truly disgusted that people can't even wait for Halloween to pass before they try to force X-mas on the rest of the neighborhood. When did it get acceptable that the X-mas season now seems to stretch for 2-3 monthes some cases? I'm in Edmonton and half Ukrainian so I'm also very used to the Greek Orthodox community stretching the X-Mas season into mid January. By the time that last week before Dec 25 comes around I'm so burnt out of anything X-mas related that I'm extremely relieved when its Dec 26 and I feel my life can get back to normal, lol! <Rant off>

I lived close to the Danforth in Toronto for 8+ years (2003-2011). My kids are Canadians. I'm pretty sure that allows me to add a word or 2 occasionally
October 27, 20169 yr Author I saw all the activity on this thread and hoped for folks reporting their cards arrived in the mail

Eight pristine cards. I was only expecting 6, the other 2 were for orders that were cancelled. Seems the ridiculous online ordering system has some benefits. I've been lucky enough to move some of the Brick Bounty sets and Star Wars sets already, so these are so sweet. Now we just need an in store promo card deal to use the online cards on...
November 8, 20169 yr Got my gift cards in the mail yesterday. Decided to look online and see what was on sale. Managed to get 20 X 60033 - Arctic ice crawlers for half price. Came in 4 factory sealed cases from the back.
November 28, 20169 yr Doing the spend $200 online get a $50 gift card for Cyber Monday. If you didn't clean out your stores the last time.
December 3, 20169 yr Cdn tire had a spend 100 get 20 back yesterday which I missed but was told that they will likely do it again before the end of the year. Great when combined with already discounted sets. Sucks when you miss time and have to put everything back. On a positive note, cdn tire currently has the market corned on burlap right now. Homedepot is out. Edited December 3, 20169 yr by kd123
December 3, 20169 yr I wish they at least made these things for the weekend. I didn't even look at the flyers until Saturday.
December 25, 20168 yr A bit quiet in this canadian tire thread? People cleaning canadian tire without announcing here? Clearance on lego has been on for 2 days. I went back today and the shelves are cleaned. Still some scooby doos there.

December 25, 20168 yr Just about everything is 20% off depending on what your store carries. Thankfully, my store still has some Indominus Rexs.

If you are in the greater vancouver area, you can go punch in some searches on each store. The jokerlands are worth cleaning now that they are EOL. 119 per set is not bad. If you are into nerf, the mastodon is on a fire sale. Some stores have over 50 in stock. Hot wheels sets are dirt cheap. They are also clearing out a lot of star wars sets, both lego and figures.
December 27, 20168 yr Found several Jurassic World sets listed as available at my store. Only 20% off, but seemingly sure things at this point. Worth checking your local store's stock I think. It does vary store to store though, and their website is fairly garbage in its organization. Several items listed with a price and picture that indicates one set, but a name that indicates another...and vice versa, so keep an eye out for that while browsing. Got out confirmation on 3 TRex and 4 Petra-whateveritis-don so far. The one I Rex was cancelled, but then popped up on the site again, so I re-ordered....hoping a different monkey goes and looks and actually finds it. One Jokerland.... not sure on this one. I think it's pretty ugly, not confident it'll be desirable with the new batman movie sets coming out, which I feel are much more attractive sets. Worth a look anyway. Check out how much the jokerland minifigs go for. With the amount of minifigs you get from that set, that's a sure-win set regardless. You can't lose at $119. I guess you went to the one on Marine Drive? I saw one sitting on top of a cart, the box was a bit dinged up so I passed. There are quite a few Scooby Doo sets on the shelves. Maybe the mystery machine is worth getting. I did manage to score a Technic Cargo plane in South burnaby today for $129. Their website isn't garbage when doing inventory checks compared to TRU. Canadian tire would tell you which aisle the item is located. TRU wouldn't do that. Some of the hot wheels sets are on fire sale but the boxes are so big. Hard to pack and ship but seriously, under $50CAD and some sold for around 89USD..... Nerf Mastodon for $59CAD is also a fire sale but that gun is too massive. I can't imagine what Canadian tire will do with their 80+ left in stock. If they lower it to $29, I'll rent a U-haul.
December 27, 20168 yr Ordered for pickup on Main Street. I'm over on the North Shore. Actually off the mainland right now visiting the folks. Looks like I have a few sets waiting for me when I get back, if the joker land is still there maybe I'll nab it.

It is not on aisle 22 as stated on the website. Someone moved it. That someone is not me. Maybe i should be nice and move it back there later for you while i grab some more nerf guns. I guess the light just turned on for you on jokerland. This one had a short time span and low run. Wait a month and lets see some folks choke when it blasts off.
December 27, 20168 yr No my iRex got cancelled twice, so I had a spare $120. Figured what the hell. It was cancelled too though. No real surprise, our inventory at MEC is out of wack this time of year too. Jokerland looks like a bit of work, gotta part those figs; you're right if you take that route. Otherwise they're going on eBay between $150-200... $135 after tax, then fees....really not much there for a NISB sale, even at the upper threshold. If one parts it and clears ~$100 in figs, then maybe you'll make a bit more on it. I'd rather spend that time sorting my bulk lots at their 250% margins
