Pretty easy sequence to predict here people. Both for Cindy and Death Star. 1. Image leaks. 2. "Meh, not impressed, where has Lego's creativity gone?" 3. "Guaranteed investment winner"

  • "Well I have about 20 Emails and 3 phone calls on the New Death Star and what am I doing about the 10188.I was going to wait a while to post but with my name poping up everwhere well he is my thought.

Boy, and I thought Switzerland was the most expensive with CHF 579, i.e. around EUR 535.

So its officially up on LEGO Shop at Home now as "coming soon"... Assume that "warning choking hazard" is a direct reference to re-sellers choking on their tears.

10188 owners can probably give a good review for potential buyers :(

I'm more offended that they are the audacity to put new on the tag

it is priced at 555€ in my country ...

Yes, when i saw that 14.999CZK price tag, I was shocked. I expected a lot less. It will be even more terrible, when czech national bank stops intervening on currency, so the FX rate for EUR/CZK will return back to its natural level, so it will be precisely 600EUR...

Luxury goods tend to be more expensive in CZ I noticed (like Macbooks for example). Don't you guys just order most lego from countries like Hungary anyway?

Up at most EU SAH´s now. 500 euros seems to be the price across the board i the Eurozone.

the poorer you are, the more you pay - seems ecenomy works that way

nobody understands Hungarian so nobody can order from there :)  (I did once Witcher 3 Collectors Edition with help of my hungarian colleague when everywhere else it was sold out)

$502M profit and no public shareholders I am sure they learned their lesson lol.

Pretty funny as it's a Czech game right? :D

I buy from Hungary via Bricklink a lot. Seems they have some more reseller stores there that are very affordable.

Not surprising, as Nyiregyhaza is in Hungary and one of TLG's major factories. Must be a lot of folks with connections in the factory picking up bricks on the cheap.

That's very likely! :) I even bought this rare set there: http://brickset.com/sets/4000011-1/Nyiregyhaza-Factory

In the same way you can buy some discounted sets from czech lego factory in Kladno. On the other han, these are only sources where you can get discounted some larger sets (lets say 150USD+ RRP), as most of the toy shops usually do not have them and the few ones with wide range of Lego do not give discounts on these at all. Anyway, Czech market is small, so noone cares a lot and despite this fact, the amount of people who are trying to earn some money on Lego resale increased significantly last days, especially after the "lego is better investmnt than gold" topics in czech media :-/

I can imagine. At least the pivo (beer) is very cheap, so you can compensate the losses there. :D

Pelt me with rotten eggs if this is common knowledge, and I know we all don't care, but "early VIP access" for this brand new Death Star starts Sep 15, as per the big poster at my local LEGO store. Do you think they'll open early for VIPs?

What's the melting point of a LEGO brick exactly?

105 °C or 221 °F

So much hate for this and to be honest, nobody cares. The 10188  was terrible anyway, there are interesting sets than UCS.

What is it with new people coming in and trying to stir the pot at the moment?

Nobody cares, yet this thread runs to 117 pages, go figure?

117pages and 2/3rds are the speculations of what the new set will be. When it was released, it is probably 30ppl here who are writing and compleaining the same thing last 30 pages. So noone actually cares, in the same way as noone cares about the new SW Hover Tank. Only difference are the people who invested in 10188.

Anyone who has full basement of 10188 and was expecting to make profits like with MF was crazy. It was bad decision even before 75159 was announced. Only excuse is, if there is someone who bought 10188 in 2008/2009, but still, he should get rid of it as fast as he can, when it was 2010+ and it was still available in SaH and people were hoarding this. And the fact that I am not writing here does not mean I did not purchased Lego in years when 10188 was available. I am very happy of the appreciation and especially play and display value of my Lord of the Rings and Kingdoms sets.

10188 was **** playset, 75159  is **** playset, life continues, There is tremendous amount of other sets, some of them are even worse investment than 75159 and some of them are much better. I would be worried much more about the overall quality of sets as there is not more than 5 sets I really like in their current production as a thing to play with, which I can not say about the Lego from 2010 or 1995. These were periods of supreme set production. I sometimes have a feeling, that people here are just investing into Lego like it is a barrel of crude oil. To be able to valuate the sets, one has to enjoy the toy and play with it with kids and afterwards he can easily tell, what is the value of the sets or he has to be at least a collector. And 10188 was terrible set for its value. Bad display value is no go for lot of collectors. And for playing - boys are not girls, 10188 is a star wars doll house for boys which is as a concept totally wrong especially when it is priced how it is priced. Such concept can work for Disney Princess but not for SW.

Nexo Knights, Ninjago, Bionicle, "new" City, mediocre Star Wars ships which were nowhere with figures noone cares about, that are the real issues. TLG is slowly going down with their products, same as on the begining of the millenium, when they started to sink hugely to dust. Lame DS is the top of the iceberg, which actually is hot topic only because a lot of people were greedy seeing their tremendous investment doubled or trippled easily. Otherwise it is not bigger **** than lego chima /nexo etc. and it does not deserve so much  emotions.
