Pretty easy sequence to predict here people. Both for Cindy and Death Star. 1. Image leaks. 2. "Meh, not impressed, where has Lego's creativity gone?" 3. "Guaranteed investment winner"

  • "Well I have about 20 Emails and 3 phone calls on the New Death Star and what am I doing about the 10188.I was going to wait a while to post but with my name poping up everwhere well he is my thought.

I haven't seen anyone mention this major misstep with the new version:  Where's Obi-Wan's hood and cloak?   Lego not only was lazy but they actually screwed something up that was right with the original.

The 10188 money % that was used for Kenobi's hood and robe was allocated for 75159 Han's new Dirk Diggler-like hair element.  You dim think that type of hair style comes cheap do you?

Seriously, yeah it's a slight miss but Lego went with the printed torso and leg look instead.  Oh well, that is the last mishap with this set ;)

Nice video by @just2good with great comparison pics.

The review is pretty much spot on.  I will also be leaving bad reviews for this set.

Battle the Royal Guard in the throne room

Ah yes i remember that scene... err... wait.. it's AOH's lookout tower all over again!

The only royal guard battle I recall is when Yoda smashed them in Sidious' chambers about 5 seconds into their fight in Sith.

Huh? Not sure what you were talking about. They were a bit annoying but not that hard to defeat :drag:

Gotta admit Han Solo's hair is bangin'

Am I the only one who prefers the old style minifigures?  The new ones are cool but the old simple ones have charm that the new ones lack.

Maybe I just like Old Style.

I might be in the minority here , but I think there should be a differentiation between the set being crap and what TLG did beign crap . I think the set looks pretty cool if that was an original design .

I have a feeling the Amazon reviews are going to be brutal for the 75159.

It looked cool when it was 10188.  75159 looks stupid.

am i the only one here who will actually buy it

2 to 3 years from now , many new Lego fans will actually buy it . It think it is rather too soon now as most folks do have the 10188

I'd buy it at 50+% off :drag:

No, I'll probably buy a copy for my collection, too. None for investment though.

I'll buy if it is heavily discounted, or falls off the back of a truck. [emoji48]

Unless you don't have a 10188, buying a 75159 only encourages LEGO to be lazy, uncreative and uninspiring.

I absolutely prefer the old style minifigs - From an artful viewpoint, it is a more suitable match for the simplicity of the LEGO form.

Same here I'll leave bad reviews for it to. I'm happy with my only set I got 10188.

I am afraid to say this, but it looks we have a self-fulfilling prophecy. How many times did we discuss in the 10188 forum to expect an updated box with Disney or UCS logo, and also expected updated minifigures? Last year, many folks here were spying on the last available boxes of 10188 in stores in order to report if any updates were done so far. I think a large fraction of the community was expecting an update. However, that it turned out as a new set with a new number is what only few expected in their wildest dreams. As a protest against the Lego company, I changed my profile photo to Playmobile's Playmospace!:baby:
