75159 - UCS: Death Star (2016)

Featured Replies

I haven't seen anyone mention this major misstep with the new version:  Where's Obi-Wan's hood and cloak?   Lego not only was lazy but they actually screwed something up that was right with the original.

Pretty easy sequence to predict here people. Both for Cindy and Death Star. 1. Image leaks. 2. "Meh, not impressed, where has Lego's creativity gone?" 3. "Guaranteed investment winner"

  • "Well I have about 20 Emails and 3 phone calls on the New Death Star and what am I doing about the 10188.I was going to wait a while to post but with my name poping up everwhere well he is my thought.

The 10188 money % that was used for Kenobi's hood and robe was allocated for 75159 Han's new Dirk Diggler-like hair element.  You dim think that type of hair style comes cheap do you?

Seriously, yeah it's a slight miss but Lego went with the printed torso and leg look instead.  Oh well, that is the last mishap with this set ;)

Battle the Royal Guard in the throne room

Ah yes i remember that scene... err... wait.. it's AOH's lookout tower all over again!

The only royal guard battle I recall is when Yoda smashed them in Sidious' chambers about 5 seconds into their fight in Sith.

Am I the only one who prefers the old style minifigures?  The new ones are cool but the old simple ones have charm that the new ones lack.

Maybe I just like Old Style.

I might be in the minority here , but I think there should be a differentiation between the set being crap and what TLG did beign crap . I think the set looks pretty cool if that was an original design .

It looked cool when it was 10188.  75159 looks stupid.

am i the only one here who will actually buy it

No, I'll probably buy a copy for my collection, too. None for investment though.

I absolutely prefer the old style minifigs - From an artful viewpoint, it is a more suitable match for the simplicity of the LEGO form.
