Lego has just updated their "License Conflicts and Resolutions" page and it stipulates that any submitted project related to the Doctor Who property will be accepted for possible review in the future if and when it achieves the required supporter milestone. Of course this does not guarantee a single thing but given many of us now have a Back to the Future Delorean sitting on a shelf with a space beside it awaiting the upcoming Ghostbusters Ecto-1 car, the chance of also having a small Tardis does not appear to be that farfetched of a concept, does it?

BTW - My daughter (who is 7) and I have been using that joke (minus the sound) for a couple of years now.  It's a fun one.

I'm so bummed - for some reason, I've had it in my head for the last month that Nov 1 was the release date of this set.  Needless to say, I was disappointed the other day when I remembered it's Dec 1.  :(

This must have something to do with timetravel! Because for me it has been almost the same... in the end I remembered that it's Dec 1 but for a moment there I also thought that it's Nov 1 ^^

Maybe originally it has been Nov 1 and the doctor altered the time line (or Marty McFly did...) and our "misremembering" actually have been lingering waves of the original timeline.

I'm guessing it was the Dimensions Level Pack release, since that officially is out tomorrow, but I like your idea better.

Hard to answer, because I haven't had the time to put it together.  LOL

I don't have Dimensions, so I had to wait until someone posted the instructions (TOK did the other, I think).  I do like The Doctor though.  As a *huge* Doctor Who fan, it was just awesome to hold an "official" Lego Doctor in my hands.  I have the Character Builder Tardis, 11 and Amy, but it's not the same.

I thought about it today. I ultimately decided not to, because I think I can get it cheaper somewhere later. I've been seeing dimensions packs pop up on shopgoodwill.

First impressions:

Box is beautiful.

This is a beast.  It's almost the exact size of Brainiac Attack, but is easily twice as heavy.

 

Called local Lego store hour ago, they confirmed that it will be available in stores tomorrow morning with limit of 2 due to limited quantities. 

I placed my order for 2. will be stopping in the store tomorrow. I need one tomorrow. Even if it will be my lunch break to get it. There will be a review forthcoming.

I ordered mine at 6:40 this morning and then it was still Available. My order is now in status Warehouse, so it should ship out one of these days.

Will this one come available outside Lego or will it be exclusive like birds?

In The Netherlands? Very, very limited. Some toy stores that specialise in Lego some times offer these Ideas sets as a courtesy to customers, but at best for the same price as Lego sells them in LEGO Shop at Home, and commonly marked up with €5. More as a service to people who either don't know about Lego LEGO Shop at Home or who are reluctant to order from online for one reason or another.
