75827 - Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters

Did anyone see this? A ghostbusters HQ set is rumored to be coming in 2016.

http://www.groovebricks.com/lego-ghostbusters-firehouse-hq-75827-coming-in-2016/

LEGO Ghostbusters fans are in for a real treat next year! Over on YouTube, Just2Good – one of the most reliable sources when it comes to early LEGO set news – has states that there will be a LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ set coming in 2016!

According to him, the set’s number will be 75827 and it will contain a whopping 4,600 pieces! Obviously, with such a high number of pieces comes a high price to pay. Just2Good stated that the Firehouse HQ will retail for a total of $350.00 USD. As for the release date, we should see this bad boy hitting the shelves on January 1st, 2016.

In regards to the actual set, we still dont know the finer details. We don’t know exactly which minifigures will be included, however, we do know that it will be based off the original film rather than the new movie that’s coming out next year.

Though details are lacking, I’m pretty sure many of you are quite hyped for this new set. As always, we should expect more details to come out the closer we get to the month of January. Perhaps, we might even get an early tease/look at the set at this year’s New York Comic Con which is going to be held between October 8-11.

If you have to choose between this and the Helicarrier, which $350 set would you go get?

I'm a bigger Ghostbusters fan, so it's this between the two.

I've considered getting the Helicarrier, but I wasn't OMG Must Have This Now about the Helicarrier like I was GBHQ.

Anyone have a picture of this set next to the modulars?

I am sold.   A day one order and build for me.   Looks amazing!!!!!

That dude is really into Ghostbusters. Set looks cool.

That thing is huge. Period.

Sweet. Definitely

anyone thinking of mod'ing it into more a modular design

That thing swallows the Ecto - 1. In comparison

I'd love to buy this set on release day but will probably postpone the purchase due to my December shopping spree.

I'll take that...

I am really surprised at how unfinished the rear of the set looks, you can see it around the 21 minute mark - unless I am missing something...

The back of the firehouse is god awful. I also don't like that it's only hinged on the first floor and that the baseplate doesn't split when opening the sides. I think it'll be a pass for me. Will have to confirm when it's displayed at the brick and mortar.

I love this for the purpose of going in the town/city that my family and I always build and update.  However, if the purported back actually looks like that, I think it's terrible and the hinge makes no sense.  I'd like to know the purpose of that decision.  I will buy one regardless, but do hope that those "issues" aren't necessarily the case.  Just seem odd.

I was at the Lego store in arundel mills this past weekend and they have this and the brick bank in stock. They were not on the floor but they brought them out and let us see the boxes and man do they both look awesome. I would be surprised if this is not incredibly popular. It looks great and the minifigures look awesome.

I like it but wow the back looks terrible. Some odd choices back there. Regardless I think it's a winner.

So now we are complaining about how the backside of the set looks....the area when on display is typically up against a wall nobody sees or cares about.
