Maybe the fire brigade is no longer considered a modular set? Flip around the catalog. Perhaps it got shifted to Monster Fighters or Super Heroes.

Any other noticeable missing sets? eg, Helms Deep, Lone Ranger, Uruk Hai, Mines of Moria, Batcave, Unimog, Technic Logging Truck, Funhouse Escape, Wolverine Chopper Showdown. Are any of these still listed there?

None of those sets you listed are in the catalog.  There are 6 pages for "Lego Movie" and "Over 70 new sets" total.  The only hobbit/lotr are "Desolation" sets.  The only technic are Grand Prix, 4x4, MK 2, and Excavator.

 

Maersk ship is in it and R2D2 and Death Star.

 

No Jabba's Palace which is telling since they show the sail barge and gunship.

Thanks for the update! At TRU doing a price match plus additional 10% off the wolverine chopper. $21.50CAD each, took all 6 on the shelf.

I think the SSD will still be around. I saw 4 on the shelves at the lego store today.

I wouldn't count all the chickens yet. I'm sure the lego catalog will miss some sets. I'm hoping the bat cave is still available. I didn't buy enough of that.

One interesting note - despite a lot of friends sets, no Dolphin Cruiser.  I'd be shocked if it's retired though.

That would catch everyone off guard. Thought I had 2-3 yrs to buy this. The cruiser is the hottest selling item in X'mas.

Punch up lego's website. It's listed at $24.99. Smooch with the cashier. The lady gave me a bit more than just 10% off from the price match.

Try and get some unimogs. Best Buy and Future Shop canadian sites listed the unimog and other technics at ridiculous prices. You can land an extra 10% off. I think I paid something like $180 taxes included for the unimogs each, and funhouse escape was $33CAD.

It seems like the new catalog mainly focuses on new Lego Movie sets and 2014 Friends sets.

Cruisers are slowly making its way back.  It seems like the stores are rationing them.  Just a lone one on the shelf while they restocked. 

I've seen many Dolphin Cruisers at Targets in my area.

The Dolphin Crusier is in the 2014 Wholesale catalog for all of 2014, why would Lego retire this hot item after a few months.

Do you mean in the Lego store. If so, the last time I saw them in the store was in September/October. After that, they just disappeared and they have not been back since.

The only "Tolkien" related sets in the catalog are Mirkwood Elf Army, Laketown Chase, Dol Goldur Ambush, and Dol Goldur Battle

I'm sitting on two Fire brigades right now that I was buying for long term buy and hold, but they both came in slightly damaged boxes.  One has pretty nice dent in a middle the other pretty nice dent in a corner.  What is general consensus here as far as FB being available on Lego LEGO Shop at Home site once holiday hubub dies down?  Should I quick flip the two I have and then buy the mint ones for long term  or should I not tempt the fate and just sit on the ones I already have for a long term?.  I paid 120 and 148 for the ones I have right now.

I only see a few dollars profit with the prices you paid. Are you just trying to break even on the damaged ones to get mint ones?

I'm not sure FB will even come back.  Hold onto these until you are able to order new FBs on S@H.  Order the new ones and return the old to your local Lego Store or ship them back to S@H if you have to.
