August 16, 201510 yr I went through my Star Wars collection (I mainly collect the minifigs to display) and I have right around 400 "doubles". I'd like to sell them and use the money for some of the new sets that are coming out. My question is... Where is the best place to sell a lot this size to one person? Craigslist? eBay? I already put it on a facebook group, but nobody ever spends that kind of money. Any suggestions? I'd really like to make this as easy as possible, but everyone wants one or two at a time. That would take FOREVER,,,
August 16, 201510 yr www.Brickclassifieds.comAs Ed mentioned, just list them in Brickclassifieds and you'll probably sell them to some one on the site relatively quickly. Assuming the price is not excessively high.
August 16, 201510 yr Unless you're offering below market value, I think it would take longer to find one person to take 400 vs many people wanting who ever they're looking for...
August 16, 201510 yr I'm sure you are a smart person, and just because one might see stormtroopers going $5 each on ebay, you would not kid yourself into thinking you'll find a buyer to give you $2000 for this lot... we all know that's not going to happen right? Priced fairly (less than ebay), I'm sure you'll find a buyer on brickclassifieds.com and pay the lowest commission there. You might also consider breaking them into lots of 50 or 100. I've seen lots of 50 go for about $200 on ebay recently. (search ebay "sold items" star wars minifigures "lot of 50")brickclassifieds.com
August 16, 201510 yr Author I've checked eBay extensively. And I know that I have to price large lots below market value - the person buying them is most likely buying to resell them.Brickclassifieds sounds like a good idea. I was thinking maybe $1000 for the lot. Do you guys think that is a realistic price for this lot?And how does brickclassifieds commision compare to ebay?
August 16, 201510 yr Author ALSO - I don't see any large lots like this on brickclassifieds. Is it common for people to sell large lots on there?

The short answer, Classifieds' fee is 2% vs. the 10% fee ob Ebay (assuming no store or Top Rated status)
August 16, 201510 yr I'm not a minifig investor so I haven't the slightest idea what would be a good price. You can always price your lot at $2000, and note in the description "Make an offer". Large lots do sell on BrickClassifieds. Because many of the buyers there come straight from here, you will be offering your lot to qualified buyers who know what your lot is worth (or at least they'll know what it's worth to them). They are buyers who have inventories worth thousands of dollars, and can easily swallow a lot like yours. I've sold a lot of about 60 identical sealed polybags on Brick Classifieds before. I offered it as 6 lots of ten bags each, and I think that may have helped me sell it. The buyer quickly made an offer for all sixty (which I accepted). He clearly wanted all sixty, and (in my imagination) didn't want smaller buyers moving in and picking up parts of "his" lot. So, in this way, offering it in smaller lots (at a price that is fair to you) can help sell them all as a single lot (in theory).
August 16, 201510 yr Author Thanks for all of the help. I've been offered 750 on a lego fb page. Think I'm gonna take it. This is a lot more work than I anticipated.
