Fair enough on your strategy.  I'm more in line with you on the strategy as QFL is time consuming.  But to illustrate what I've been trying to say, I just sold a Trex Tracker and a Raptor Rampage on Clist for $150.  My total costs on those not including gas was $107.  So that's  $43 profit on $107 buy-in.  And that doesn't include the Ninjago poly, C3PO poly, the $10 GC or the Rewards points.  No shipping costs.  No eBay or Amazon fees.  No taxes included.  No boxes or shipping supplies.  I must drive 2.3 miles to meet her at a mall parking lot for a 40% profit.  And that was cheap.  The only reason I sold them that cheaply was because she said they are birthday presents for her son.  He "is adamant about collecting them all" and she was hoping to get the IRex, but was only looking to spend $150.  She said that by getting these two, that will leave something for Santa and the grandparents to get him for Christmas.  And guess who has two thumbs and will be selling them to her for Christmas.  This guy!  :money:

Congratulations.  That worked well on that 1 case.  What is the percentage of CL deals that did not work out at the end for you?  Lets use a definition where you have spent at least 1/2 hour texting /emailing the potential clients but ultimately there was no money/items changing hands.

I would like to objectively examine the pros and cons of selling on CL and you have presented the pros side (no fuss, etc etc). I heard so many great CL transactions around here, and you are as good as case study for this as anyone else ;)

People are going to do what they want. No sense in bashing heads over it. If someone is content with minimum wage, so be it. I know my time is worth more than that so I will seek other avenues for now.

You didn't have other avenues before?

Thankfully there are always other avenues[emoji57]

Nice try. I am trying to be objective here and will not take side :P

As my teacher Mister Spock is fond of saying, ‘I like to think there always are …possibilities.’

I'm doing just fine with mine...

Thanks

#CHAOS

The RE + poly combo on amazon is gold. Especially own that the polybag is up over $30

Btw is the poly, winner of this year best performing set? And how many here ended up with more than 100?

I very rarely have any issues with CL.   I sell military surplus on CL all the time.  I'm not really sure what the cons are or what two people could possibly discuss in '30 minutes of text.'  The ad says what you're you're selling and for how much.  The first text is either, 'yes i will sell it for your offer' or 'no, i will not sell it for your offer'.  The second text is where to meet and when.  It's not rocket science.  If it becomes too drawn out, I'll just give an ultimatum.  If they're cool with that, I make the sell.  If not, I'll wait for the next person.

Nice. So there is minimal downside for selling via CL in your area.  Good for you.

Yep.  And my 'area' has included Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, Texas, and Oklahoma.  I'll be glad to find out which areas are bad for Clist with this investigation as I haven't found any myself.

Went to a lego store in MD earlier today.  I have never seen a store so stocked with sets; a handful of the death stars, x-wings, orthancs, you name it, it was there in multiple quantities.  And with the Jurassic sets, they had 5 IR's, about a half-dozen of the RE's, and a good amount of all of the other ones.  I was shocked as to the overall variety of everything.

Why the Emerald express? Does it yield a hefty return?
