Someone inside Lego confirmed me yesterday that 71012 will run until end of August and then it will retire to leave room for production of series 16.

They took note of what has happened with German minifigures and run a huge production which may flood retailers now as they expect supply to last up to end of summer.

Despite thay, I'd expect this set to work well in the future even if they're flooding the retailers now as it will be the very first one and iconic,  so lots of children will ask for it when disney set #2 comes next year.

It's wise to do a limited run on the 1st series to push the idea of exclusivity. Then, when series 2 is released, the buying frenzy is further increased because collectors don't want to miss the boat this time and buy hoping for the high demand of the first series.

I hope they only do a limited production!

Saw a full box at Wal-Mart yesterday. The 2nd box for this location.

My TRU has restocked several times.

Being my first post couldn't have lower credibility! I'm afraid same woman at Lego changed her mind and stated that there will be no more production runs for 71012, so she kindly asked me to wait for my limited 20 acquired at LEGO Shop at Home and go to retailers if I wanted to hover more

Just read the new Lego Catalogue Jun-Dec 2016 and it states a 71012 is a limited edition and a new minifigures series will be released in September 2016.

Every line of minifigures is a "limited edition" technically.  They only have a shelf life for a 1/3rd of the year before the next line.  The disney line is just popular compared to other lines in the series so it's going to look more limited, but it's not. 

I've seen these pop up in a few more walmarts around me.  I think these continue to hit retail outlets until September, like said above.  That only makes sense.   I  also doubt lego will try and limit capacity to make "demand stronger for series 2".  Why?  They'll make as much as they can from it, and move on.

Lego employee today said they got their last box and that's that...lots of other words being used around this series...but from what I can see if you need to get a complete set and you see a fresh case...smoosh now or there might not be much left in the near future....I also spoke to that store's manager who did confirm this but also said he has heard nothing of a Disney Series Two vs. one of his employees who mentioned they might have a series two. I think the only person to really listen to is yourself. If you want them, go buy them b/c no matter what, we're talking months at most of availability possibly less depending on where you live.

That it won't be available this summer. Stock at local retailers is starting to dwindle. Meanwhile there's still a lot of demand. Not sure about availability in Fall 2016.
