No discerning buyer would ever purchase from a 3rd party Amazon seller.

Most of what I buy on Amazon is from third-party sellers. Granted none of that is Lego.

I guess Amazon.com inspires confidence as buyers know Jeff has their backs regarding scams. Ebay is still the wild west in comparison.

I agree with you (though eBay is far from the wild west even by comparison to Amazon. Buyers still have the upper hand on eBay). I just wanted to point out that the original comment is in fact accurate and not just "ingrained [irrational] belief".

Not really. Buyers are lazy. Has nothing to do with weather they’re discerning or not.
