Will placing two orders for the same item two days in a row get you banned or anything? I just want to get two promotional items.

It probably won't get you banned but it might raise a red flag for Lego since it is the same item two days in a row. If you order different items on separate days, you will significantly lower your risk.

in my experience LEGO Shop at Home does not care if you split orders to get multiple promos (even on the same day), assuming your orders are reasonable.  Two orders of the same thing likely will not be a problem, assuming you do not exceed limits and do not do it often.  But as MartinP said it is things like that the get flagged and reviewed, so do so in moderation.

you can generally tell if an order is being 'reviewed' if it stays in in process status for more than 1 business day.

Stupid store won't let me add a payment method. Looks broken. Clicking Add gived a blank section. Tried different machines with different browsers.

Site was down this morning for me.  They may be doing some updates.  You could try calling if you want to get the order in today.
