Thanks guys, got it.

Saw a bunch of these at the brick and mortar in Santa Clara, CA. Cool looking set. Plenty of time to pick this up later.

525 sold yesterday, it'll be lucky to last till mid September (at least if there is no restock).

ditto here.

No electricity was used by cash registers on my behalf on either this set or its companion birds set.

I am bang and bird free and plan to stay that way.

Never seen the show. Wish they had done a Seinfeld version. Would buy that. Not getting this one either.

Available for RRP @ Amazon, FAO, Target, Toys R Us & Walmart & for $53.95 @ Barnes & Noble.

I guess Amazon is selling too many because they don't seem to want to PM...

No reason since top 10 toy for the past week.  Dropping down a little now, but still surprising strong sales.

Just noticed an "Electronically Protected" sticker on both Big Bang sets I ordered from B&N.com.  Looks like a RFID tag.  Is B&N doing this?  Or do all boxes from Lego have this?

I am fairly certain it's just B&N. I didn't see the tags at the LEGO store.

As a big fan of the show, I've never underestimated its impact/potential. xD

I really like the show as well but I am not sure about the investment potential.

Positive:

- Attracts geeks with high income

- sucessful series

- high sales volume

negative:

- no classic like BTTF or Ghostbusters

- not much appeal to kids, so no coming out of their dark age demand

With the price point is think it will easily reach 2x RRP, but I am not sure about more.

I was hoping it would retire before the show ends. I thought they signed for 3 more years...

This has now moved to #2 @ LEGO Shop at Home behind 21109 Exo Suit (on sale).

Just open it. I did it, too. And I can assure you that there's only Lego inside.

You should make an experiment.  Arm sweep the shelves and post results in 2018.
