You are looking at a period when people could have gone to TRU to get these sets brand new for $40-45. That is one reason why BrickLink didn't have many sales during Christmas/New Years. If you are patient and can hold inventory for a year, these are easy sets to make double your investment back even if you sell for original retail price. Also, TBBT has 7 minifigures. My cost/set was $35.26 all-in. If I can sell all 7 minifigures for $35, that's basically free parts for me. I don't see much difficulty moving 7 unique minifigures for $35 CAD.

yes. but havbing 10-20of them.. lol good luck., and december was the month of the year, just before christmas, other set sold 10-100 x better..

From december to jan they wasnt on bogo, but was often on sale for 42 to 55. This is a slow seller thats it. I have a few but i wont be stacking this high.

You may find the Dr Who sets to be a solid investment & very easy to move in quantity come the summer cons... they're maybe just not for the afol crowd, there's a huge following of cosplayers and devotees that snap up anything thus related at the sifi, toy/hobby and geek conventions.  just don't limit your market scope just because it's Lego.

This was what I originally felt about ToO.   I'm not so convinced. Probably could move the (Dr Who) units better if we were in the UK.

What I like best about Dr.Who is that they barely lasted on the shelves for 15 months. For whatever reason retirement came quickly.

I'm small-time looking more for cheap/"free" lego than trying to make money - so stuff like BBT is not bad in my book.  Earlier on, I bought two, just sold one locally for $10 less than I paid for both. The other one is being added to my parts pile. Kind of tempted to check my local stores, but they're probably cleaned out by now. I also think that BBT is unlikely to be worth stocking in quantity, purely from a pop-culture perspective. It's a TV show nearing the end of its run so will have a pretty small audience for whole-set buyers. Good parts pack though, at bogohalf prices.

In more relevant news, this might be interesting:

LEGO Super Heroes Heroes of Justice: Sky High Battle 76046

is on for BOGOHALF. The set looks fairly shitty but it's probably a something you can make milage on, especially at that buy in or for those who will part it for the minifigs (looks like Wonder Woman is quite valuable on BL).

Why no censor? We can't say sn a tch in the literal meaning, but shitty is ok??? Lol!

This is the Canadian thread, we don't sweat the shitty verbiage here. If you post after 10pm you may even see bare boobs!

Dr. Who set is available online now.

Only the Dimensions set when I looked.

At my local TRU yesterday, I saw two Technic heavy lift helicopters (42052) on for $149.97 each (BOGO eligible)... Still doesn't seem like that great a deal... thoughts?

BOGO is only for items that finish with 8. If it is bogo, it`s a pretty good deal although they were available on amazon.ca at just under 100 for black friday

This week's flyer has 25% off 18 various lego sets. The flyer shows Krennic's shuttle, the people in the park and the gas station.

Can't purchase any. I guess they sold out already. Will have to check local stores.

I went to a store that the website said had Dr Who in stock, but only the Big Bang Theory was on the shelf. When I asked the clerk, she said that the Dr Who sets were likely on a truck since they had filled the shelves with everything they had that morning. She said that if it's on a truck to the store it will show as in store on the system.

Doesn't add to cart.

It worked earlier, I have placed a bunch of orders... promptly followed by a bunch of " Please note the following item(s) are on backorder" emails a few hours later. :ermm:

Hey guys ...

I have quite a few of the Dr Who sets, but not enough of the series 15 or series 16 or disney minifigs. If anyone want to trade straight up, Dr Who at bogo cost for minifig sealed cases at bogo cost, I have about 20 sets that I am willing to trade.

such a great set, sad to see it gone so early. I built one because im a big fan and kept 1, guess i shoulda bought a few more thought this was going to be on shelves alot longer then what it was.

I grabbed 2 more Dr.Who over the weekend on sale. These must have popped up as 'lost ' stock just recently as I asked if they had more and the clerk said no, she already checked earlier. I think my area is officially cleaned out of these now.

I saw a bunch of Disney mini figures for $2.98 back on the shelf. I asked if BOGO still applies and they said no. And they don't have a sealed full box. They were about 150 loose bags. Is this still a deal?
