Management at TRU must read this thread.

Fine print also says that the clearance sets are excluded from getting the bricktober freebie.

No. That is just a sale. Clearance items are marked with that word or those giant red square stickers they use in store. Looks like a lunchtime trip to a store is in order before all the parents head there after work today

What $75 and over items will you guys be targetting to get the promos? Not much is tickling my fancy right now.

Wife had the day off and went to local TRU store for me to grab two of the Deep Sea Operation Bases. Got the Warriors minifig pack, but the store didn't have the Spiderman promo yet so the manager brought out a box from the back and let her take three other promos (older?). She mentioned a Star Wars polybag, a watch, and not sure what the third one was. Also put her name on a list for the Spiderman promo when it arrives. Score. Looks like I'm gonna have to make her dinner or something

Deep Sea set (50% off) and battle droid carrier (30% off) will put me over $75. Might also get a Star Wars advent and one of the DC sets (Green Lantern or Deathstroke).

I'm a big fan of polys generally and this one has some potential to double or so, but it's not as valuable since neither figure is exclusive or even hard to find. Spidey is in every other Marvel set and Venom was in 2 cheap sets. The 2 of them were both in a junior lego set last year for $10.

So getting promos with the clearance items like Deep Sea Operation may work afterall!

I sold one last month for $19 US shipped. 

I had no problem getting promos with the 50% off items today in store - they even let me do two separate transactions so I could get doubles of both promos.

As always with these promo items they are very YMMV. If "Your mileage may vary" was in a dictionary of terms; TRU promo items would be listed as the example haha.

I see your double and raise you quad transactions. Got the deep sea and the Batman vs Superman small set as a combo for the poly and the action 4 pack twice, plus the deathstroke and star wars advent with those 2 bonuses plus used my $10 Star Wars promo card, and finally the ninjago set and the Green Lantern set for the bonuses as well. Today as in many times I've done separate transactions at one counter, I asked for a gift receipt in each case to make it seem like these were presents. Which in a sense they will be, once Timmy's parents have come to me.

I dropped by a Toys R Us on the way. They appear to give promotion items even when purchasing sets at 50%, they still had stock at 50% off, they still had the Musicians promotion set from last week (you could choose whichever), and they didn't mind doubling the promotions for a $200 purchase.

Also, it was a terrible idea to stop by a Toys R Us while on bicycle to end up carrying 7kg of Lego in one hand for 5.3km. I don't recommend it!

yes i would have been able to buy some at 5$

 

I sneaked one Polybag without any purchase, but I have been told that I couldnt have more than one.

It made my day anyway. 

i bought both the ninjago set and the Sub set for 50% off. I also picked up the battle driod troop carrier 75086 for 30% off plus the 10$ coupon form last week. And i broke and bought the Big bang theory set for 30% off as well. Split the order into two and got 2 warriors and 2 spiderman. it was a god day. Still thinking about getting another Ninjago set. dont know if i will see better price then that for some time.

Is this code still working?  Tried a couple sets and didn't seem to work.

Discounts for next week (14th to 20th) at Toys R Us are:

- 20% off most Star Wars sets
- 20% off most Nexo Knights sets
- 20% off most small City sets

It doesn't look interesting even if the ROGUEONE10 code still works (Star Wars $10 off), everyone's wallet should be able to recover a little.

Although, purchasing in-store with the Bricktober promotions perhaps wouldn't be so bad...
