Unless they don't price match "clearance" prices (if these are actually labelled as such) i'd say yes. I have no experience price matching clearance items though.

Why not just order three at clearance, and return the full price sets?

Yeah, it pays to watch. The only time I have found stock on the Sea Cow is when it came back at full price. I still bought two, but that is almost three at today's price. If only they would get some more stock and I could get lucky

Those who bought last week, just call them up and get a price guarantee. It pays off to buy near end of life. This has happened in previous years many times. A lot of people bought tumblers last week, imagine price guarantee at $160 a piece. That'll be a nice hefty refund you'll be getting.

You will for sure. If you paid 229 for it last week, you get $20 plus $20, plus around $109, plus taxes. So the total reimbursement would be around $170 after taxes for all three.

    Retailer must have the advertised item in-stock and be available for immediate sale in the same local market area
 

They don't actually have the Sea Cow or the Tumbler in stock, so it doesn't qualify for price match, does it?

You will get it. It's 45 days. If not, you take it to the store, return, then buy back. They will do it.

It's not a price match, but more a price guarantee. From my understanding this holiday season - they will give you the lowest price the item has been at from November something till January something (it's posted in their stores i believe).

Thanks, you are right.  But it seems to have the same rule for the price guarantee, as stated on their website:

• www.toysrus.ca is in-stock and the product is available for delivery at the time of request.

I'd give it a shot in store. I know I've price guaranteed stuff that has been OOS. Never heard "it needs to be in stock", might be a YMMV, but I've been doing it a long time with %100 success. Normally the price guarantee is only 7-14 days or something, but as i said before i think this holiday season they extended it to be a couple months.

Worth a shot either way! i know i'll be trying.

If you guys are worried, bring your Sea Cows to store, refund, and buy back. It's so simple, there's no need to complicate things. I've done it once where I purchased two sets of 3, then it went buy 1 get one half, I just told the cashier to refund all 6, and punch it up into one receipt. Go to TRU late before they close so there's nobody in line.

Tumbler doesn't show on TRU anymore !

Noticed Arctic Icebreaker clearance at 33% off... If I add 2 shouldn't the second one be half off again? Did I miss some fine print about excluding Lego? Should work out to ~$75+tax each, which seems like a good enough deal to diversify my portfolio into the City theme....if the promo would work.

My local TRU had over 15 Milano on the shelf, no sale sign was posted so I guess nobody knows.

I was at a toys r us this morning and they would gladly refund the difference on the lego sea cow.  It was very empty this morning, all lego wiped, only ones left are ninjago, friends, chima, city, technic and duplo.  By the way, they had some tie advanced prototype polybags for $3.88 each.

I submitted an online PM yesterday and just got e-mails that all my Sea Cows and Tumblers will be refunded the difference. Score!  

" Thank you for contacting Toys“R”Us with your request for a price match on the Tumbler and Metal Beards Seacow on Order# xxxx. Since the price on has been reduced within the last 45 days, it qualifies for a price match!"
