I'm Canadian and new collector from 2016. Do we ever get discounts over 20% like they do in the States? Is the Canadian resale market more viable than the American one because of this? ( I suppose American sellers to Canada are at least as or less competitive as we are on the national market because of higher shipping/customs costs)?

You just caught us in a moment. It's been pretty Canadian Eh for the most part in here, so all good :D

On the notes of giving props, I'd like to give some props out to @Sandwraith, @Thumper, and @Zender for helping me out with some at or below cost deals and trades over the past year. Showing what this community is all about. Cheers guys. :)

Rare to see greater than 20% most of the year unless you have hours and hours of free time to drive around to random locations and hunt for one-off clearances. Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and Boxing Day are about the only times I've ever seen discounts going deeper than 25-30% off north of the border.

Sure, we get plenty of 20% off deals. What are you looking for? December isn't the best time to find discounts though.

Toys R Us will still have 20% off on several Minecraft, Friends, Duplo, City, Super Heroes, Ninjago and Nexo Knights between the 2nd of December and the 15th.

Eh, most members of this community will gladly help each other. I have handed over sets at cost to other Brickpickers around Montreal (because I didn't have enough of them to part out), and they have equally found me sets with low resale value (but great to part out). ChristopherJB can take his bragging and ego elsewhere.

Ditto to guys like stragus, legorules, and Jeff14 who have helped me with advice, product and trades.

Lets continue keeping this fun and civil, Canadian.

Except the deal on the Sandcrawlers. That was a great deal.

You got 18 of the things. Just hold on to ONE of those for an extra year, and help a guy out so he can BUILD the set at a discounted price. It's not like I'm going to be stealing that profit from you.

I'll also point out that you noticed the deal went live at 11:38pm. When did you post saying so? After you'd probably taken the 2 I had in my cart from under my nose and tapped them out. Ridiculous.

Edit: Greedy more like. I can understand having no respect for Little Timmy, but most other BPs here help others out on stuff like this. It's all good though. I didn't get any, and they're all gone now. Here's to hoping it tanks hard and you make very little on your 18 behemoth boxes of brown bricks.

Can you tell I'm still salty? :codemafia:

Appreciate the supportive sentiments from the rest of you. Cheers for that.

Now that you've learned your lesson about not working as hard as me on the refresh prior to the sale, next year, you'll have your trigger fingers ready at 11:38 rather than 12:01 on maybe the Slave or some other UCS set that is going to retire. Hope you learned your lesson.

FYI, "hoping it tanks?" You sure? 300USD sold on ebay right now. No tanking there so far. You missed out and now you hope it tanks. Sounds just like day traders hoping a stock tanks after you sold for a loss.

Wall-E back in stock online.

I believe Amazon.ca price matched it, 30% off. Not as good as Lego Store but not bad if you're interested in grabbing one. I decided to pass on it, spent too much already lol

Wall-E all over the shelves at TRU, not single one of them moved over the weekend. Take it for what its worth.

Might be different in Canada.  I don't think Wall-E has seen this deep of a discount here.

TRU has relisted a lot of the 30-40% off sets on eBay. Which reset the buying limits. ;)

Ok, I haven't posted in a while as life as gotten a little crazy, but it saddens me to see my favourite community turn into every other forum. BP is a classy place with awesome contributors and people who really have gone out of their way to help fellow BPers, me included! For those of you who are newer and don't know about Supraboy, we are pretty sure ChristopherJB is the same person (Just a lot of silliness related to them). We have tolerated him and understand that he needs to gloat once in a... few hours. Don't pay him any attention. Ignore him like you would an Alpaca that keeps spitting at you... you're not going to punch the alpaca right? lol

Let's keep this thread Canadian eh? Sorry for the long message!

Anyway, just wanted to thank all of you who keep posting all the time for the sake of the rest of us as I really don't have time to troll sites like I used to. I will be spending some time scrolling back and giving "likes" to the contributors!

I don't gloat all the time, and with gloating comes deals that I will post up. As for Supraboy, I don't know him. He's history. There are lots of lego deals at the moment on Amazon.ca. Now you are making me reconsider whether I should post them all up. Maybe you can do some searching there. Some lego sets are on sale for 40%-50% off.

Where can all of toys r us Canada Ebay store items be found??  I tried clicking on "view sellers other items" , visit store etc but it always says they have 0 items.

Can anyone provide a link to their items for sale??

Well quit the oposite here, they were 2 shelf of 8 feet full of it 2-3-4-5 deep, now theres about 10 box left. I have a feeling that it won't last the week if they keep it at that price.  Not sure if I'll get more, it's christmas, and many deals on many sets are too come. With today's one, i have 5 only but I have that feeling that I should get more. I prefer set this to a 50% lego city for exemple.

but I can say that big bang theory and dr-who is still on shelves and didn't sold much this week-end. Those one might hitbogo.  Wall-e is a big seller and the end is near.

You guys forgot to add the Ideas Maze there. I'm surprised it hasn't been cleaned out yet. I decided to post about the Maze now since I got enough hoarded. :)

Yesterday, some went for around 100EUR. They are now limit to 2 on Amazon.com with a price of 69.99. SAH sold out. 30 left on amazon.ca. Once I see it go down to around 10, I will clean the remainder. So make your move asap.

Those lists are being automatically scraped and posted .. if the maze wasn't picked up there could be something different about the listing. I'll let Jeff know.

You think the Maze will do that well? I am lukewarm ... it's neat, but I don't have a single one (personal or otherwise). I think it's just holiday buying shenanigans and in three months people will have moved onto the next batch of Ideas sets.

71 left on my end...

I need to stop checking this site, or at least the deals threads. My poor wallet. I've bought as much inventory in the past week as it took me to accumulate in my first 6 months of selling. :swoon:

Haha yup, I've been scaling down drastically this year, but many of the deals this past week have been no brainers.

Edited by Sandwraith

Checked two different TRU stores today. Absolutely no advent calendars left....and I was there at opening for one of the stores. So much for their deal. No stock online, no stock in store.

People are starting to ask about them online as well. Thing this is the last year I will buy into them.
