  • Hanging is by far the best way to display it.  It has a hollow core, so we used a small piece of wood painted black with an eye bolt and picture hanging wire.  That way its supported from the bottom.

  • I think this pretty much sums it up. A five year old boy (my son) watching Star Wars for the first time ever. The Death Star is... fascinating.  When it is gone (whenever, if ever, that finally happe

Hopefully this gives it a boost and we see $600 over the summer.

Think wishfully young padawan - the flippers will keep this one pegged for some type yet.

May 4th is just around the corner. $600 USD isn't that far of a stretch.

True, but we got up to 650 euros in January and it is now down to 550 with some "elements" letting them go for less than 500....

well one thing is for certain price isn't going DOWN.....steady but slow increase since December 20th final sell out at LEGO Shop at Home...I could buy one all day long for $430 shipped anywhere late December....now $530 or more..$33 a month increase isn't horrible..

I knew I made a great choice this morning on Amazon now

Holy cow! Amazon actually had that for sale this morning????

With 202 sellers on Amazon I think it is going to be very tough going but we all knew what we signed up for with this one. We may have to be content with $550 until the rehash comes out.

I have 4 total, keeping 1 for myself and got the other 3 for an average buy-in of $275. Will see how high it goes over the next few months and go from there.

For a while I thought it was never going to happen.  Well, good luck DS!

What a momentous occasion within the picker of brick world. I feel like someone should give some good words in recognition of this loss

I love how they did not slap the retire tag on the Red5... its like there needs to be a board hearing for every product before a retirement tag can be put on

The intern probably had a syntax error in their SQL update statement. It should get updated with their next regularly scheduled website outage.

Good riddance?

Please allow me to introduce myself
I'm a Star of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul to waste

Pleased to meet you
Hope you guess my name
But what's puzzling you
Is the nature of my game

I totally agree.

Set to the tune of "It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday" by Boyz II Men

Ahem.......

How do I say goodbye to what we had?
The good times that made us laugh
Outweigh the bad.

Holy skunk spit!
All kinds of goodness in this set.
The new Emperor, Vader and R2 look cool. The black protocol droid is great and I love the mini-TIE Advanced. Looks like you can put Vader in it, too! Pure genius. (edit- nope)
Was this going to be a Shop @ Home exclusive? I hope not, becuase if KB gets it, there goes all my gift cards. (edit - KB? HA!)
24 figs in one set. Never thought I'd see that. This set is going to go for $300 easy in the US. (edit - Keep saving)
Would've preferred someone else besides Tarkin, since I got the ISD set, but he makes a lot more sense here than he did in that set.
Heck, may sell the 6211 Tarkin off to make some dough for getting this bad boy.
The only problem I see if that it may be hard for fat fingered people like myself to get there hands in the narrow spaces to place minifigs.
Hope it's stable.

I thought we'd get to see forever
But forever's gone away
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

This is becoming like the neverending set though. It almost needs to be discontinued at this point! tongue.gif

I don't know where this road
Is going to lead
All I know is where we've been
And what we've been through.

Just a heads up, I've been watching the quantity of these on Amazon. They seem to be selling about 5-8 a day. There is currently just a little over 400 of these in stock. So expect them to be gone from Amazon in about three months if they really are discontinued from Lego.

Got 5 in my house waiting for them to be discontinued..  (from Killerbee from Ontario :) )

If we get to see tomorrow
I hope it's worth all the wait
It's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday.

I took great pride in adding the "Retired" tag to this thread today.

I also got a good chuckle out of reading the first post in this thread.  It's been a long time.  Just over 4 years to the day when someone asked that famous question, "when will the Death Star be retired?"
