I think 10188 will be the last UCS death star for a long long time with success of new movie. Now lego will be too preoccupied doing UCS from the new trilogy, there will be little room for OT. Starkiller base, kylo ren ship, new x wing, new first order Star destroyer etc. Only MF will have a high chance of reboot UCS.

I would think the OT UCS sets will be gold in the coming years.

  • Hanging is by far the best way to display it.  It has a hollow core, so we used a small piece of wood painted black with an eye bolt and picture hanging wire.  That way its supported from the bottom.

The 10188 isn't a UCS..........

true but close enough for me

I like the little set a lot.  Its a doll house.  It is not detailed enough.  It is too aged on the mini figures.   Everyone has too many.  The replacement is coming and it will be a slam dunk.  It is not UCS.

all the more reason to like it

after seeing the movie I can only say i respectfully think the star killer ucs base is coming and is coming soon :)

It is a definite. And i think lego executives and speculators can all relax now as the lego star wars sets are getting too many remakes.

This new movie should breath a new life into lego star wars sets with new batch of collectors.

That's funny, because, after seeing the movie, I think just the opposite.

I am not normally pointed but on this one I say

Of this I will say...

I am an Emmett, not a Master Builder.

I have no imagination.

I can't imagine what they will do.

Which means they can and will.

Let's wait until at least until tomorrow evening before dropping even cryptic spoilers please. After that no mercy for people who didn't want to go to the first 1/2 day of showings.

As someone (me) that stayed out of the discussion thread for months, because I was worried about spoilers, I'm hyper-sensitive to it.

Trust me when I say that nothing that either of us said can be considered spoilery.  They truly aren't even cryptic spoilers.  They aren't spoilers at all.

I do agree with the sentiment that we should all do our best to keep spoilers from spilling out of the main movie discussion thread for at least a few days.

Just bubble wrapped and boxed my last death star ready for the loft. The more I look at the box the more this set grows on me. I'm a believer that box art has a direct effect on a sets desirability and growth, sometimes even more so than the set it self. The sheer, weight and size is awesome, the style from the box art really has that retro SW feel to me and just oozes collectability.

Never been a massive fan of the set, saying that I've never built one. But I am pleased I went for one more, love this box!

For me it shows as:

Maybe just $$$ would be a clearer acronym.

I think you should try to give people opening weekend before spilling the beans. It's just not practical for everyone to see the movie by opening day.

I know that won't happen but Sunday night/Monday morning seems like the right time to me.

For some people it is not even practical to see the movie in a cinema at all - too many noisy folks around. I'll wait till it comes out on DVD, so no one will ruin the fun watching it.
