I was in the Lego Shop again this afternoon and it struck me again how ridiculously many major Star Wars sets there are. DS, EV, Sandcrawler, R5, TF, Slave 1 - something has to go!

The website won't let me  buy any either.  Maybe it depends on your browser or location?

The Death Star is still being advertised in the fall 2015 catalog for the US:

So it should be available at least for the coming weeks for anyone interested in accumulating stock.

Careful.  The Super Star Destroyer was also advertised right before it vanished completely.  I'm not suggesting the Death Star is leaving us for good soon, but I wouldn't put much stake in the catalog when making your EOL investment decisions.

during the latest dry spell employees at two different stores told me that lego will make more, but this is the last year for this boat anchor. take it for what its worth

IF you do not have one and want one,  buy it asap, it will go, doesn't matter if it goes in 2015 or early 2016.  
Reduce your anxiety and stress level, just get one and wait for the fireworks.  
Why wait and try to time its eol by checking out Lego.com, Reading what people say, Looking at catalogs, reading tea leaves. 
Its NO secret, This one is on the chopping block.

I'm sort of glad I sold one (flipped for a nice chunk) earlier last month.

I've loaded up on two more, which I am breathing and feel safe that this holiday season will only make purchasing the DS and X-Wing's crazy!

Let us hope that this is only a good sign that the DS and X-Wing will finally die!

True, It´s probably burnt onto the presses after so long.

Obviously the Holiday 2015 catalog will have a full page devoted to the new Death Star...

I'm beginning to think all these rumors about the New DS is all BS.
