Foreign LEGO sets

I was intrigued by quite a few foriegn LEGO sets.  Does anyone have any advice into international LEGO purchases, or if they are even a good investment?  I have yet to attempt to acquire a foreign set but would love to get any feedback on the topic.

    Are you talking about sets that were only distributed locally, like Lego House or Marina Bay Sands?  Or cheap knockoff crap from China?  If the former, they are generally excellent investments because of the limited availability.

    I was interested in the 21100 Shinkai 6500 Submarine and the 21101 Hayabusa Satelite, and other sets like that.
