I really like the series "Black Sails". Great actors and love those ships! Not sure if it was already posted but this is a great Black Sails scenery:

I believe those to be just metal rods holding up the planes. They don't look to be Lego and the weight of those planes would probably be too much at that height. I think TLG uses them as well for displaying planes in some of their setups.
