Certainly feels like it. I got some nice minifigs out of it, just trying to figure out the best (and most financially efficient) way to offload the bulk.

Efficient?  Sell the minifigs separately, take some pictures of the bulk and sell the lot.

Last year I put all my kids sets back in sets again.  Most were mostly completed as is.  I set up bins behind my desk so I could quickly source missing parts as I went.  I probably accounted for at least 95% -  99% of all pieces in the sets.  Given the time it took and the cost to replace the missing pieces I would come out more ahead to simply buy the used sets off Ebay.  So if its really not worth the time for me to sort sets that cost me nothing (for the sake of argument) than it certainly is not worth it to buy bulk lots as a means of making money.

As a "hobby" many on here do it, I have, but it's not a money making venture - unless you simply do not put a value on your time 😜

Yeah, going through someone else's used Lego is not something I'm personally interested in lol. Aside from scraping for minifigs. I think I'll just list the bulk on eBay and save myself the trouble. Marketplace isn't great for bulk around here unfortunately.

Talk about “insider trading” Lego themselves bought 50 Goats to use as giveaways with their influencers to launch their new Instagram content. FYI Lego no longer posts content to “X” Twitter because of philosophical differences but does reply at times.

Instagram is owned by Elon's protege, so they're running out of platforms to boycott.

Anyone ever use that “notify members” thing about newly uploaded products on bricklink? I never have in the past, but having that number show on the upper right corner is really starting to bug me.

Yes, I always use it when I hit about 1k lots.

Yes, all the time.  Not sure why you wouldn't.

Anyone ever have a serious problem arise with Bricklinks inventory of your store?

Just decided to do a full audit of my store, yes it's a nightmare.  Noticed that there was a serious lack of sales and many items I was seeing in bins weren't listed.

Needless to say I'm about 75% completed and so far its looking like 15-20% of my stores inventory had just "vanished" off of Bricklink.  We are talking about 20k+ items with no apparent rhythm or reason.

Bricklink had no explanation for it and I can't find any connection with the pieces missing.  Makes me really nervous going forward.

Am sure you have checked, but check your stockroom settings? I've wondered why my store shows zero of a certain piece but I have a bag of 500 or more which was confusing. Checked and saw that at some point in time, they began to add up in the storeroom instead of available for the store. Sometimes a nice accident and "find", but also can be frustrating.

Nope. Selling for 10+ years, close to 1 million parts sold, and ~400k parts in my store currently and not once have I ever found a single mistake in my inventory that could not easily be verified as human error on my part.

Not going to say that it can't happen, can only tell you my experience.

I will say that keeping extensive records of part uploads as well as being able to use the auditing features of Brickowl has been huge to figuring out where I screwed up. I also count each lot twice before packing, that has saved my butt countless times. I also wonder how safe it is to use the part out feature on bricklink vs using BrickStore to upload parts. I haven't used the BL part out tool in a VERY long time due to weird time out issues and keeping the same page open for too long while editing remarks. Usually the complaint I see are people blaming Bricklink for listing more parts than they have vs the other way around.

Yep, parts are just completely gone across the board.  I'm going through and auditing entire colors at a time.  It shows you if an item is in stockroom or not.

I've been using it for nearly 15 years and this is the first I've really notices, but based on some of the parts missing it's been happening or a long time.

The most frustrating part is there is no common theme to the missing parts.  All new parts have been parted out from sets but there will be various lots missing from random sets.  It's also not just rare or parts that I don't have a lot of.  For example I've come across common parts like a 1x2 plate in Black that I might have hundreds of parted out from dozens of different sets and it is completely missing from inventory.

It's tough since there are basically no logs at all on bricklink to show you the history of your inventory. I think that is one of the best parts of BrickOwl.

You can sync your store to BrickOwl, even if you never open for sale on that platform.  One thing to check is that the default setting for BL inventory is to delete the lot when the last item sells.  Probably want to change that.  When I was selling regularly, we tried to keep some slush stock in case of human errors.   We'd have a handful left in the bin, but BL deleted the lot because the last one in BL's count was sold, orphaning the remainder.  Thankfully we figured that out, which helped.

Art of Chocolate and Camper sets in warehouse and charged as well.  And the beautiful thing is, once the VIP points hit, I should have enough for a free Venator.

Hmmm .... should I be worried? This is the buyer's address on a BL order:

Address:
<snip>
100 Print Shop Rd.
LEGO SYSTEMS, INC.
Enfield
CT 06082
USA

Account was created in early May. 4 Feedback. Ordered close to a 100 pieces of one part. Picked my most expensive shipping option. Curious.

In the past they have done this for contest prizes. Was the element anything special.

Why worry?  A quick view of the address shows that it is indeed LEGO.  And LEGO owns BL so they already know who you are.  I'd say that this is about as safe as it gets (unless you send them some non-LEGO bricks.)  I wished that they would order from me.  I would offer to hand-deliver, from Alabama.

2x2 Dome Top Brick in Orange (part 553).

I'm now struggling with their payment. They paid using Stripe which I configured a while ago but apart from customers on BrickOwl I have not had anyone use it on BrickLink. It's been 5 days and I still see no evidence of a payment in my Stripe dashboard. I have just written to BL Support to see if they have any info on the payment. I know Stripe is slow to post, but this has been 5 days ... anyone any insights or similar experiences with Stripe?

Stripe typically holds the payout for 7-14 days to assess risk and ensure funds are available.  If this is the first transaction via Stripe, yours or theirs,, you will definitely wait at least 7 business days.

That seems very odd to me, can you check the transactions, do you see the transaction there?

It will be a while for funds to deposit but the transaction should show right away, it always does for me.

OMG. I went to the Stripe virtual support assistant, who was clueless, but offered to connect me to a live agent. To do so, it asked me to "pick my account" - and it showed two accounts with the same name.

Turns out, Stripe created two identically named accounts - one for all my BrickOwl payments, and one for my BrickLink payments. I didn't see the payment, because I was always looking at BrickOwl. On the main screen, I switched over to the other account and lo and behold, there was my payment.

Why there are two accounts with different balances is beyond me, but at least I found the payment!

Well I am glad you found it, I never would have guessed that as I get both payments in the same account.

Hopefully they can join them back together for simplicity's sake.
