I never go on a road trip without a current road atlas. I've been far too many places with scetchy cell service to rely on a phone to get around, besides it is far easier to navigate long distances if you can see "the big picture" of where you're going. Some of my best trips have been because something noted on a paper map caught my eye and I went out of my way to check it out. You'll never get that experience from Google maps. Those antiquated things we call maps are just marvelous.
