M-Tron was a 1990s subtheme of space. Along with the color scheme one of the defining characteristics of the theme were these magnetic elements used to attach box pieces to ships and such. Which is why the creator of this particular MOC named it "magnet factory". The theme had some cool sets, check it out: http://brickset.com/sets/theme-Space/subtheme-M-Tron
