I could do with a 40' container to put in the garden as my attic is full. ;-(

Oh right. Well, in real life containers typically use bright colors so they can be more visible at night (also more eyecatching when stuck on the back of a semi or train traveling crosscountry). This actually could be one time where using old gray would look realistic on a few because the dull color gives the container a 'weathered' appearance.

I found a few life images for inspiration.

WOW!!! That is five months away. I can't believe that it is that popular in the UK.

Hopefully it's an error :)

I wonder what scale this is close to: 1:400, 1:600?

Well according to Wikipedia the Mc-Kinney Moller (first Triple E ship) is 399 meters long the Lego version is 65 cm long so 1:614 scale. You almost nailed it

I think it is. On LEGO Shop at Home UK, they changed the expected ship date from May to March. That is good.

They had quite a few on the shelf at the Lego Store yesterday. Also one built up, it looked smaller than I expected, and was dwarfed by the Sydney Opera House next to it. And those Maersk stickers will be really annoying to put on. Its too easy to get them crooked at their display example proved. :)

Mine are still on backorder. ;-(
I can see these becoming a "41999" is there's no supply until May!

Awesome! I can add this to my 1:600 kit model ship collection

I see a lot of complaints online about the stickers...too many of them, too tedious.  I'll be avoiding this one like the plague.

  • 3 weeks later...

out of stock, expected ship date march 30, 2014....LEGO Shop at Home....next to be sold out after Mars Rover, LOL

Thanks for the reminder, I just ordered another 5 Rovers to use up VIP points.  However, getting hold of the ship isn't quite so easy. ;-(

A triple E for 5 rovers seems like a good trade ;)

Not really, I'd lose
