What system do you use to sort and store for quick, easy access? I acquired a UHAUL sized load of parts that I want to use for building MOCs and need help. I am thinking some kind of wall-sized drawer-ed system but not sure what people have tested and like. Thanks for any help.

I sort by piece type. Basic bricks and other pieces I have in large quantities are kept big Ziploc bags. The rest of my pieces are kept in either these mastercraft parts drawers or these plano storage boxes. The drawers of the mastercraft one are 16 studs deep and can be divided into 3 (can be wall mounted but I don't). Quality is acceptable/decent. I can't seem to find the Plano boxes near me anymore but they are great for "special pieces" (plants/accessories etc.).

 

This eurobricks topic has a bunch of storage solutions. It's a big investment of time to keep everything in order but if you like building MOCs it's worth it to categorize IMO. I'm a medium MOCer (50k pieces).
