Check your local Walley World. I just picked one up today on sale for $81.00. It had been opened but all the bags, etc were in there and sealed. It was on sale for $89 but they took an additional 10% off because it was opened.

I would kill for a few at $81!

Most places are out of this set, and I discovered why today. It is out of stock on LEGO.com until almost two months away! I have never seen something out of stock that long, not even at Christmas. So obviously if LEGO doesn't have any, no one else does either (once they have run out.)

The question is, will LEGO S&**** have more then? By the time a couple months roll around, room will need to be made for the second wave of LOTR.

They are pretty hard to find. I have seen a few here and there at Meijer and Walmart but always at full price.

So is the general consensus that this is going to be a good investment set?

I saw a price sign for $59.99 for this set at Shopko, but alas, someone else beat me to them as there were none left on the shelf.

In my opinion yes.

At LEGO Shop at Home, it has been upgraded to "Will ship in 30 days." Earlier it said something like March 15th.

Bought two copies this month. One at Target for $83 after tax (with my red card discount) and the other for $90 on ebay. Already opened one for my personal collection. Just was in the Lego store in Raleigh NC yesterday (smaller store) and they said they will NOT be restocking that set.
